The people who think this wouldn't have even been a case in the US legal system are dismissing all the circumstantial and skeptical ways many innocent people in the US are arrested, tried, sentenced, and even put on death row sometimes, only for the real guilty person to be finally revealed decades later (or never). Justice always tends to side with Power. And this was about both a husband and a justice system begrudging their having no real ground against this woman other than their petty arguments. It doesn't matter to the system if it's gonna wreck someone's life or make the life of a blind kid even more messed up. I don't buy it. A system is a system. It isn't inherently prejudiced. The case was a joke from the start, and I do not for one damn second believe that it could ever happen - and CERTAINLY not to a famous author who can clearly show that there is no evidence in a very public sphere. There are realistic options you could go with for a falsely accused narrative - badgered confessions come immediately to mind - but this nonsense of LEOs and prosecutors just rolling with it because there is audio of a fight the day before(!!!!) is such total bullshit

To some extent, certainly. This is why jury nullification should be taught in every school in the USA and held as one of our intrinsic values. What I meant to say here is that I don't see how it can be inherently prejudiced against a public figure whose only marks against her are that she (a.) doesn't speak French very well, and (b.) writes about murder in some books

Even if she did do it, she was completely justified anyway to escape the endless loop of that 50 Cent instrumental. Self defense because that was an assault.
