This is from The Clock (1945) with Judy Garland and Robert Walker. I watched this in class several years ago and remember crying laughing to this character actor, Keenan Wynn, his only scene in the film - brilliantly and hilariously playing drunk:

One of the best examples ever. Actors should take notes on this scene whenever their Character is drunk. Superb Performance from Keaton all around. The Oscar belonged to him that year.

There's the holy trinity: Ray Milland, Jack Lemmon and Nicolas Cage.

I would also submit Daniel Day-Lewis at the end of There Will Be Blood and Joaquin Phoenix in basically all of The Master.

"Who wants to sober up??" - No Down Payment (1957)Best acted scene of Joanne Woodward's career? There's more to it and the clip doesn't do the Cinemascope justice. Great, bleak movie from Martin Ritt in his impressive debut year (Edge of the City too) - shoutout pacinoyes whose posts brought the movie to the board's attention!

Not Jack Lemmon in the green house. Not Kirsten Dunst playing Marge Simpson in Cyprus Creek.
I want to say Jude Law in The Nest. Albert Brooks in Broadcast News?

Albert Finney has more great drunk scenes than anyone I reckon and of course in many of them he is not a fall down drunk but a guy who is maintaining a constant state of being drunk - all the time - so he's "pretending" to be sober to get by. He's funny and and sad playing what he thinks is "normal"...... You see a lot of people mimic characters like Finney actually created now in movies - Washington in Flight is doing a lot of Finney type stuff, .........so is Dunst in TPoTD. Finney also does a thing where sometimes tasting the alcohol gives him a jolt and at others is almost choking him - no one understood booze as medicine like he portrayed. On our GOAT of all time list I had him as the #2 British actor ever - behind Olivier and ahead of DDL.......but if you took out his great drunks he'd be lower
