For me, I tried to enjoy two James Joyce's works, but they're so confusing and hard to follow. Like, I don't know. I'm appreciating literature now and before, but I really can't follow Ulysses. The way it's written, I can't tell if it's a quote or narration. Perhaps, I'm reading an updated version but still.

As I Lay Dying, Sound and the Fury, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Tale of Two Cities, A Bend in the River, Heart of Darkness. Liked or admired something about all of them, but couldn't bring myself to love them overall for one reason or another.

I didn't try to love The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, but I was a bit disappointed by it.

The Shining I just couldn't get into it at all. In the end I didn't finish it. I will try again someday, but I don't plan on it any time soon.
Drive This I persevered with and finished despite really, truly not enjoying it at all. I tried though, I finished the damn thing, which even at its short length was still torturous.

Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse was a novel that I tried to really get into, but it just never had a grasp on me.

Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland The 1951 adaptation is my favourite Disney movie, so I was looking forward to the source material being just as good as the movie. I was so disappointed with how boring the book was. I guess I was spoiled by the musical numbers in the movie and how it was WAY wittier than the book.
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn I was also let down by how slow and pointless the book was. I have also never read a book with so much n-word in it. I know its banned because of the excessive use in the book, but I just couldn't get past that the most admirable guy in the book is referred as that ALL THE TIME. I know thats the way it was at that time, but I was just so annoyed by having to read it over and over. And people complain about the use in rap music! I know its an American classic, but it was a pain in the ass to finish.

Whether or not he was successful is another question, but I think Twain was making a point to have the most admirable person in the entire book denigrated because of his race.
