That Uruguay coach is a moron. He played against Portugal and fucking South Korea like he was a small team playing France or Brazil: 3 defenders, Valverde playing guard dog with barely enough freedom to move, Arrascaeta on the bench the 90 minutes against SK and 60 against Portugal, etc.
Tite wasn't much better. Brazil often started with two more defensive midfielders, but that was when he had Cafu and Roberto Carlos, Jorginho and Leonardo/Branco or Maicon/Dani Alves and Marcelo as full-backs, not fucking Militão and Alexsandro, who are defensive players first. Putting Fred instead of Bruno or Rodrygo, specially when Paquetá wasn't full fit, it's a dumbass move.
The main trouble is that he is too young and New. He has only one year. And he was pushed by our dinosaurs players. Which other country playa soccer with 4 guys over 35!!!
There is also not rechange. I mean Valverde and other guys are great, just not great enough.
Iran officials have reportedly threatened the families of their national soccer team's players ahead of their huge game with the U.S. -- insisting if they don't "behave" for the contest, "violence and torture" could ensue back home.
I’m a philistine who has googled this a million times and still doesn’t understand: What the hell does offside mean in this sport?
When you a pass to your teammate and he is in the half field where you attack, there must be two opponents between him and the baseline. One is usually the goalkeeper, but it's not mandatory. Every body part counts but hands and arms.
Also, people who don't follow the sport too closely or never played often don't understand the point, but it's an essential part of the game because allows defenders to move away from their own area without fear of leaving an attacker unmarked. Without it, then there would be no midfield, just players trying to stay close to the area and the goalkeeper and the ones trying to stop them.

Thank you. Think I finally figured this out during the second half of this game.

The U.S.'s streak of getting the last game of the day is now broken. I can't make it for the Netherlands/US game. It's 7 am on the West Coast. Welp.... not giving up sleep for that.

I’ve gotten up for every 5am game and I’m someone who values his sleep time more than most things. Quit being a little bitch and get up to watch us beat the Dutch

Some people have sex at that time.
You can have sex and watch futbol at the same time
I would be so much more into international soccer if the top teams were countries we didn't like like Iran, North Korea or Russia. Team USA vs The Forces of Evil.

I get it, but is just makes it a lot less interesting as a spectator sport to me. I'd rather see more play around the goal instead of the long stretches of playing keepaway in the middle of the field.
