Considering global reach, it's probably Friends.

Friends, followed by Game of Thrones.
24 should be in there somewhere.

The Simpsons.
Edit: out of these, I'd say MASH. Doesn't it still have the highest viewing ever for a finale?

Voted for Friends.
Dallas and Baywatch were absolute worldwide's phenomenons in their times tho.

Twilight ZoneHow is this missing from the list? Wtf It's been re-booted 4 times and all of them somewhat worked because the idea is so strong - it's been ripped off countless times - it still pulls ratings all these years later on TV marathons..............the recency bias on this board is awfully strong Submitted for your approval.......

I don't think it's the recency bias - I can fairly confidently say that it's pretty much unknown in the whole USSR block of countries. I think there's something to the Friends and The Simpsons options. Especially the latter - I'd have to take a poll but it seems to me that most people throughout the world will at least recognize those yellow fellows

www.cbsnews.com/pictures/most-popular-tv-shows-america-ranked/32/According to this list...... Top 5 1. Jeopardy 2. Tom and Jerry 3. The Flintstones 4. Bugs Bunny 5. Sesame Street Only one of those I don't like/rarely ever saw is Sesame Street. This of course is the broadest sphere, because we were all children once. I would say you gotta add The Brady Bunch - that show is like the Bible for some old women. And add The Addams Family, tho it's hard to identify which specific show or just the entire universe. I don't think Stranger Things, Squid Game, Money Heist, Boardwalk Empire, Westworld, Twin Peaks, True Detective, House of Cards, The Handmaid's Tale, Dexter, Oz, Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm and like 1/3 of these are anywhere in the neighborhood of most popular shows of all time. There's gotta be an older reach to this.

What's the point of a poll like this that has WestWorld or fucking Oz, but doesn't have The Simpsons?

If overseas are random in what American culture they choose to distribute and what they choose not to. It would be unfathomable to me if Baywatch, The Brady Bunch, Beverly Hills 90210, or The Twilight Zone are unknown to foreigners. Like seriously lol. What kinda stuff do they show on TV in Queensland or the Philippines lol. It looks to me like the OP just watches stuff in the last 15 years.

Not sure how you can have an all-time list with Squid Game and not have I love Lucy on there. If we are talking all-time it has to be a show that boomers=== Gen x===== Millennials ---- Gen Z know and have watched. That would mos def be a sitcom and I believe it has to be I love Lucy. I would give Friends runner up status.

I would say it's surely The Simpsons. From these maybe... I mean, I think there is a difference between what is popular and what is famous, and I'd be inclined to go with Star Trek for the latter.

What about the Miami double-bill of The Golden Girls and Miami Vice?

I would say Friends of these because it has such incredible global reach.
I think that something like Game of Thrones could have reached pretty high, but then the last seasaon happened.

The Simpsons is huge in America but nobody knows anything about it elsewhere. Friends is legit unparalleled. I would say Sex and the City is the runner-up behind it in terms of global reach. Then maybe Grey's Anatomy.

Well I guess I should've said Anglophone. Simpsons is not at all relevant in for example Asia, but Friends is HUGE.

I would definitely say The Simpsons for the most famous, but for the most popular I would go with something like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones.

I think the OP is asking about worldwide though. I have no clue what American shows are popular overseas. All the ones you mentioned are very popular though...apart from your #1, which I don't know anyone outside US/Canada who even has access to it. Trebek is more famous worldwide for the Will Ferrell impression than anything else.
