Not sure I've been that let down by a game 7 since the Refs beats the Celtics in 2010.

Man is this game 2 a snoozefest? Spurs are getting their ass kicked, understandably since their best player is hurt, but this is boring to watch.

Wish Kawhi was out there, but honestly not sure if he'd make the game that much closer tonight. Curry has been on a tear for the past 2 months but he's on another level tonight and the Warriors's interior defense is lights out, holding Aldridge and Gasol to 2-9 from the field.

At least Leonard has 3 or so days before the next game to try and recover.

So what should the Celtics do with the #1 pick? If I was Danny Ainge, I'd look to shop the pick for Jimmy Butler.

I'd like to see those two first teams match up. Though defensively I think the third team look like they'd be the toughest to break down overall.

LeBron James proving throughout these playoffs that the regular season is almost entirely worthless. Kinda embarrassing for the association that they just announced he finished outside the top 3 in MVP voting when he's so clearly the best player on the planet.

The Lebron-MVP thing is kind of a tough debate. Everyone knows he's the best player on the planet, but I don't know exactly what he needs to do to win another MVP at this point. Career best numbers and total dominance I guess. People gave him shit for sitting out some games and that crappy stretch the Cavs had whenever that was. But I mean, this year he wasn't a top 3 MVP candidate even though he is the best player on the planet... they got it right. At this point, Lebron/MVP stuff doesn't even matter. For me now the focus is really on "Is Lebron the GOAT?"

I do agree that LeBron was not a top 3 MVP candidate during the regular season, but that's part of what I find embarrassing for the NBA this year. It's more apparent than ever how little the regular season matters and it's a terrible look that the NBA is coming out with these awards that do not correlate with the playoffs, the part that fans really care about.

The timing of it is so bizarre. I get that they might not have the time, but it's a thing with both the NFL and now the NBA, these awards need to be announced as close to the end of the regular season as possible. Waiting until you've gone through the real meat of the season before revealing the winners of awards based entirely on the regular season is stupid as hell. If the Cavs were to win the title, Lebron to get the finals MVP, what kind of a lame ass is Harden or Westbrook or whoever going to look like going up there to accept the MVP award?

I love Isaiah Thomas, but any chance the Celtics are actually better without him? They seem to move the ball better and are able to set themselves on defense quicker. Might just be the Cavs slacking and I wouldn't suggest the Celtics get rid of IT, but I do think this strengthens the case for them to get someone like Jimmy Butler who excels at facilitating ball movement and can defend opposing point guards.

Yup. I think they need to seriously considered trading him this offseason. He's a huge detriment on the defensive end. I love Isaiah, he's one of my favorite players, but I think that'd be the Celtics best interest.

Anyone else think that the Cavs defense looks pretty bad when the ball is moving around? Not a good sign if they go up against the Warriors.

Anyone else think that the Cavs defense looks pretty bad when the ball is moving around? Not a good sign if they go up against the Warriors. Yup. I think the Cavs were able to look really good in the first two rounds because they honed in on the ball-dominant stars then dared the role players to step up. But with the Celtics able to get some ball movement, it's really exposing how slow the Cavs can be on the defensive end. And the Celtics, good as they are, are not even close to the Warriors's brilliant schemes and perimeter off-ball movement.

No, if there was no IT, no ECF for Celtics. They wouldn't even have the #1 seed if it weren't for him. Without him they would be a #7 seed in the East at best.

I said in my original comment that I wouldn't suggest the Celtics get rid of IT. I think that they'd be better off shipping the #1 overall pick to get someone like Jimmy Butler who can cover for some of IT's flaws defensively, contribute to the good ball movement the Celtics have had since IT got hurt, and can share the scoring load. Or if they could sign Gordon Hayward, then that opens up even more possibilities for what they can do with the draft pick.

On one hand, yes, they can trade the #1 pick and add another asset to their roster or keep the pick and develop the young player. Lots to think about in the off-season for Boston.
