Best Achievement in Original Score - You Were Never Really Here I had a feeling that this post would manifest you lol. I’ll post what I said on Letterboxd, It’s so good. An anxiety attack of a film that is so inventive and well made. Joaquin Phoenix is as fantastic as ever. It’s playful, especially near the end, in a way that really excited me and kept me on the edge of my seat. Dunkirk can take several seats because this is the cinematic experience of the year imo. You are gonna cream over this dude haha.

I adore the source novella, was super-excited when I heard it had been optioned, damn near lost my mind when I heard Phoenix and Ramsay were involved, and I had to buy a new pair of shorts when it won two prizes at Cannes. It pisses me off that Amazon dumped it to early February, killing any chance of it being an awards contender (although probably for the best, with Amazon going through some tough times right now).

I really doubt this would be an awards contender, but it does suck that everyone is going to have to wait around to see it. I was reminded of Drive at times while watching, but this is obviously better. (You know my feelings towards Refn lol) I really want to read the novella now.

I've only seen 18 movies so far this year, but: Supporting Actress: Betty Gabriel (Get Out) Imspired best supporting actress chkice I haven't seen anything super strong in that category yet. I'm sure once I see Lady Bird, I Tonya, etc she'll be bumped out, but I am happy to list her as a winner. It's a challenging role to pull off and she was iconic.
