Kudos to the board for making me check this out, I admit I most likely wouldn't have otherwise but it really hooked me and I love it. Love the animalistic score, the cinematography, the writing and most of all the cast. The cast member I was most interested in was Connie Britton, who is really good but it's Jennifer Coolidge who has really impressed me (especially after being by far the weakest link in Promising Young Woman) and I was also really surprised by Alexandra Daddario. I had never heard of Murray Bartlett or Natasha Rothwell before but they've both impressed me, particularly Rothwell who I think gives the show a lot of its heart and vulnerability while unfortunately staying overlooked. I'm so stoked that a season 2 has been announced (although with a new cast and location but I think that's probably for the best). Here's hoping lighting strikes twice!
My prediction for the death:
1. Armand 2. Tanya 3. Quinn 4. Mark

I don't want this show to end next week. Equally hysterical and uncomfortable from one scene to the next. Everyone is on their A game and I can't stop obsessing about the score. Read an interesting theory that the person in the casket is Mark. Due to the punch his mask won't fit like before during snorkeling and he drowns, especially after he experienced so much character growth after the last couple episodes. Same here , hon

Oh honeys, me too! I think the vacation setting makes it so attractive and I love the characters.

So,my pick for who might be in the coffin.I think it's Greg,Tanya's hook up.He's had an ominous cough for the last couple of episodes.I get the sense he might have a terminal illness or something.

Good finale. It became obvious what was going to happen by the middle of the show. I enjoyed this and hope season 2 is just as good.

Damn, one hell of a finale. 1) I understand why some people will hate that Rachel goes back to Shane, but it feels true to life. Uncomfortably so. But then you have Quinn making a completely unfathomable leap of faith. The juxtaposition between the two outcomes is interesting. 2) Paula really ended up being the undercover villain of the season, and just a wet blanket all around. I wish there was more of a comeuppance for her. The cracks in her relationship Olivia also felt oddly unresolved.
Overall, pretty damn good series, even if it felt a bit too "plotty" and overproduced in the second half. My favorite thing about it is probaly the score...it's really up there with something you'd hear in a highbrow feature film. Acting was also aces all-around, with probaly Barlett as the MVP.

Outstanding series all around! Kudos to the show creator Mike White. Every episode was on point and darkly funny/well acted from start to finish. And the finale was a satisfying finish.
8.5/10

Ep 2 , Ep 4 and 5 were the standouts for me...didn't like the others but I liked this overall, the whole flowing offness and bright vaca vacuum of it, the self-swamped characters. Whole ensemble good... Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy (aka zoom-meeting Ben Affleck), Connie Britton ("We can go camping - well not camping but you know"), Molly Shannon ("Trophy's are shiny!") et al.

Rant alert: Upon further reflection, Paula was by far the worst character--and that's saying a lot. Entitled, dour, self-righteous, misguided, and doesn't even bother to mitigate the damage that she sets in motion.

When Armond first looks at the suitcase in the hotel room, I actually said to myself "He's going to take a shit in the suitcase isn't he"

HBO’s The White Lotus‘ Season 1 finale did not disappoint in terms of viewership. The six-part limited series wrapped its freshman run Sunday night with 1.9 million viewers across all platforms, up 59% from the previous week, and 3.5x the audience for its July 11 premiere, according to HBO.
Currently ranking #1 among all series on HBO Max, The White Lotus saw consistent week over week growth for premiere night viewing. The series debut has now amassed over 7 million viewers. This all follows last week’s announcement that the series has been renewed for a second installment.

Also, how did you like that hot young guy coming on to Tanya? Totally a nod to American Pie, right?

I totally understand your argument, but for me, there's absolutely no one worse than Shane.

But he wasn’t wrong about the room and rightfully should be pissed for how Armand responded with a lie and then doubled down with his behavior. Shane was certainly dismissive to his wife’s feelings but I still felt he genuinely loved her and wasn’t manipulative or abusive. Not trying to defend him too hard because he’s clearly a PoS, but Paula’s actions do seem a lot worse overall.

True - Armand definitely escalated the situation by sending them on the boat with Tanya and her mother's ashes.

This was... pretty good. I don't think 6 episodes was enough to really explore all of the (great) characters or fully deliver on the set-up... but that's my only real complaint (outside of the awful, hilariously overdone music). A few people have compared this to PTA, but this felt very Todd Solondz to me... especially the pregnant Lani in ep1 and the suitcase shit in the finale. And Paula was definitely the worst character. As much of an unrelenting asshole Shane was, at least he was funny.
Jennifer Coolidge was undeniably MVP... tragicomedic masterclass. No one has ever made drinking a glass of champagne funnier. Zahn and Bartlett tied for second... and Daddario, who I thought was off in the first few episodes, was kind of fantastic in the final two.

Does that mean it will actually be going Drama instead of Limited?? Because if so, RIP its Emmy chances.
