Yikes.... 5 movies. Isn't he the main money man? They took off his name but he still gets paid for it. It will be interesting to see how they move forward with new projects. Yes, he still gets paid. The only difference is now he doesn't get an Oscar if it wins Best Picture.

If he is able to worm his way back in that means that Hollywood needs to run a self-check on its toxic environment and Rudin's behavior is status quo.

As stephen said no BP nod - but the bigger point is now he has a company/distributor distancing itself from him - a Shakespeare movie hasn't been nominated for BP since 1968 anyway...........what this indicates is how quickly Hollywood will dump him and his films. Like I said.........he has lots of NDA's out there........he's been asked to release people from NDA's by Actor's Equity ........he hasn't replied.......this is just the tip of the iceberg because that is a huge issue imo .......he's got actors, companies already pushing back on him and also bailing on a hit project (Karen Olivo in Broadway's Moulin Rouge).......and now A24 will be charged with "covering for him" and that spins into other things......... it's a bad situation..........sort of like when we all thought Armie Hammer was a little kinky and then found out he wanted to eat your face..........um ........not the same situation but the same kind of thing in a way .........there is nothing good that comes of this and a whole lot of bad for Scott Rudin......

Scott Rudin, as told by his assistants.A bunch of horror stories involving Scott Rudin in there. And there are now marches on broadway chanting, "Fuck Scott Rudin." This is looking like it's going to be harder and harder for Rudin to come back from. And as pacinoyes has been kind enough to remind us 3 times already, this could very well be just the tip of the iceberg.

Michael Chabon chimes in now - wait until buying Awards - particularly Tony's - or especially bullying theater owners comes into the discussion .....um.......Not a good day for him........ “I heard stories of Scott’s tantrums and vindictiveness, but not of smashed hands and people pushed out of moving cars,” writes Chabon, whose first screenplay was optioned by Rudin in 1994. “But I knew enough. I regularly, even routinely, heard him treat his staff, from the new kid doing the coffee run to the guy just under Scott on the SRP organizational chart, with what I would call a careful, even surgical contempt, like a torturer trained to cause injuries that leave no visible marks.deadline.com/2021/04/michael-chabon-scott-rudin-kavalier-clay-collaboration-apology-1234742727/

..and the hits just keep on coming right scumbag? This story hasn't been on the backburner since he opened his mouth ........he's self-destructing before our eyes, and I kind of love it tbh .............and even more I love telling you about it and saying "I called it!" like people always do about the Oscars www.playbill.com/article/scott-rudin-says-he-will-resign-from-the-broadway-leagueFollowing promises to “step back” from Broadway productions and film projects, Scott Rudin says he will resign from the Broadway League, the trade organization that represents Broadway producers, theatre owners, and other industry leaders. His absence smooths the way forward for unions that are locked in bargaining agreements with the League to prevent members from working with the producer.
Rudin’s decision was reported by The New York Times two days after a “March on Broadway,” led by actors and activists, demanded accountability for the troubled industry titan and transparency from Actors’ Equity on steps to ensure safe work environments upon theatres’ reopening. The League has not yet commented on the matter. In addition to Rudin’s ousting from the League, the cohort offered a less specific request: restorations from the producer in the form of a “large sum” of money to 20 BIPOC-led theatre companies.

I mean when you insult America's Dad's Wife you're in trouble....... .........we'll see if things settle down or if he has a rough next week too I guess......this weeks been a disaster for him...... Wilson talked about her experience working with Rudin on Broadway for Larry David’s 2015 play “Fish in the Dark,” the same year she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“I felt like he was trying to find a way to fire me legally,” Wilson told the New York Times. “He is the kind of person who makes someone feel worthless, unvaluable and replaceable.”

Wow, I can't believe people allowed him to get away with this toxic behavior. Because there has never really been true accountability, and the more that people are able to act like assholes without repercussion, they just will continue to push the boundaries of their behavior. Eventually it gets to a point where people are afraid to speak up because they consider it a rite of passage if they want to make it in the industry, and those that choose to bow out are either silenced by NDAs or bullying tactics. It's only recently that there has been any sort of actual magnification of these issues on a large enough platform, despite the fact that the horror stories surrounding Rudin were widely known to anyone with even a moderate interest in the industry. It's also why people couldn't plead ignorance when it comes to Weinstein.

Pretty much every powerful person in Hollywood and in politics are arseholes. That doesn't excuse Rudin's disgraceful behavior, just a comment on the industries. And yes politics is an industry.

This isn't the least bit surprising. But I used to read articles all the time about the production of some of my most anticipated movies and there would certainly be implications of Rudin being nightmarish to deal with. In fact, I'm positive anecdotes involving him smashing phones and all sorts of things have been printed.

Okay, I hadn't heard anything that horrific. What a psycho. And I 100% believe being subjected to the kind of abuse he was doling out can be triggering to certain people as far as mental health issues. Mind you, I am only just now learning about this big fallout because I happened to see the recent news articles about Frances McDormand and Joel Coen denying witnessing any abuse (which they are kind of getting heat for on social media).
