VOTING NOW OPEN HERE (through May 14, 2017)
There was some expressed interest in this, so here we go! I will be collecting ballots of anywhere between 25 and 50 of what you think are the greatest films of all time, in collaboration with the other Movie Awards board to update this past IMDb-poll conducted in 2010.
If you’re submitting it through this site, just enter your username so I can check it against the list of members here (I’ll get in touch if anything seems fishy about a ballot I’ve received). Anyone who has received this link can conceivably vote, and I’d be open to some exceptions of people who have been past members or had recognizable IMDb usernames.
I’m thinking of coinciding the excitement and presentation with the 70th Cannes, so I plan to collect ballots by May 14th — on the eve of opening ceremony night — and presenting the results during the first and last weekend of the festival.
We want to make this as simple as possible for all parties involved, so try to stick with the fairly straightforward guidelines I’ve laid out in the link below.
Details are far from fully ironed out and I am open to suggestions and changes. For example, I wasn't planning on doing an elaborate presentation over threads — but if anybody here wanted to take the reins on that we can certainly arrange it.
You’ll have over a month so there’s no shame in waiting a bit to catch up with some of those titles you’ve always wanted to get around to but just never did!
I will list ballots received from various users below — feel free to PM me if you don't see your name when you know you've submitted! (but be patient and please don't send multiple submissions)
Many thanks to Viced to being receptive to this idea and creating a whole separate space for it!
