I want to be like this guy to one of my co-workers, and to my family who were all “Antifa and BLM are all thugs and should be in jail for their looting”, but have still said nothing condemning 1/6, but especially my co-worker. On Thursday, he had the nerve to be all “Biden is going to take our guns and this country is going to become Communist now.” Then on Friday was talking about how Antifa was undercover and did everything bad on Wednesday, and I so badly wanted to laugh at him being a snowflake like he likes to refer to liberals as, and then cuss him out for being a fucking brainwashed idiot. These people are so freaking entitled.

These people are so freaking entitled. I don't understand any of it to the point that I need Google translate because when they say things like we are gonna be communist now, I just give them this WTF look. The guy in the video makes a good point. Watergate has nothing on this. Good Lord. Can you believe that we have experienced two major events in our lifetime: pandemic and a freaking coup. Back to back.... this whole thing is crazy. To quote Maya Angelou: when someone tells you whom they are believe them. The Republicans knew who Trump was and didn't care one bit. The party was more important than the people. They allowed Trump to continue to spread lies and that is all that you need is to repeat it over and over and over again on a loop. Trump learned from the best there's a reason why he had Hitler's biography on his shelf. He doesn't read but that was one book he held near and dear.

Rasmussen still has the gall to say Trump has 49% approval

Liz Cheney just came out in support of impeachment
"[Trump]... summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and the lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing... There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution"

Not promising numbers. Only 10 Republicans joined the motion. McConnell was waiting until after the house vote to make a statement and only 10 House Republicans voting to impeach doesn't give him a strong message to his senate coalition, even if he supports it a conviction as sources have indicated. Voting to impeach might not be as politically expedient as it would have been if more house GOPs had a fuckin spine. Either the senate will overwhelmingly convict the way it overwhelmingly certified the results, or it falls short.

McConnell saying he "hasn't decided" on Trump conviction yet. Maybe just my pessimism talking but that doesn't seem like a good sign.

McConnell saying he "hasn't decided" on Trump conviction yet. Maybe just my pessimism talking but that doesn't seem like a good sign. The Senate trial will not begin until after inauguration at the earliest and probably not until well after Ossoff and Warnock are sworn in. McConnell has no reason to tip his hat now, especially not with Trump supporters still at a fever pitch.

In the Senate, it might be easier to have the votes from Republicans because a) There's people who are only running 6 years from now (even those 4 years from now might take their chances); b) There's people who will run for president in 2024 and don't want Trump as competition; c) People in competitive states might have seen the lessons from Georgia and what happens when you go too far in the Trumpist direction.

If they don't vote to convict him and allow him to run again in 2024 they DESERVE ALL THE PAIN. The Republicans are a bunch of cowards.

not sure where else to put this but I thought it was a good read. A Politico rundown of 30 Trump administration policies and practices, some we already know but others that got more obscured in the headlines (child separation isn't even mentioned here because everyone knows about that). Just a handy little resource going forward as we leave the worst presidency in US history behind us. Good to stay informed. There's some good and bad in there. Mostly bad (social welfare gutted, environment gutted, climate science gutted, etc), but for instance I didn't realize Trump cracked down on unwanted robocalls. That's cool. Also wasn't aware of how much he subsidized farms which is very un-Reagan of him.

Trump should have concentrated more on his own policies rather than trying to undo everything Obama did.

at least 2 years now from Jan 7th 2021 onward........ Facebook on Friday announced that it may allow former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts to be reinstated in January 2023.
At that time, the social media company will reevaluate whether the risk to public safety of allowing Trump back onto its services has receded.
This two-year suspension will prevent Trump from using Facebook or Instagram to broadcast to his followers until after the 2022 U.S. mid-term elections. www.cnbc.com/2021/06/04/facebook-says-donald-trump-to-remain-banned-from-platform-for-2-years-effective-from-jan-7.html
