RTH of BOT reports, Boss Baby 14.3M, BATB 12.6M, GITS 7.4M, Power Rangers 3.7M.
Damn that's good for Boss Baby, Ghost In The Shell's flopping, though (wasn't Johansson supposed to be a big draw? Ha!), and oof at that PR drop. No sequel is happening now.

I think Johansson is a star and draw somewhat, but Ghost just suffered from far too much backlash, weak reviews, and a crowded marketplace
Anime adaptations and Video game movies just struggle to find audiences

Wow, that's impressive for Boss Baby. Looks like Ghost in the Shell last hope is with the OS market. It better pray it follows Triple X's path. Get Out continues to have small drops. Dang!

Well, yeah-- thats exactly what I'm saying Johansson is a famous star and increases awareness, but she's not the type of draw to save a movie like this Arguably, the biggest draws are Leo, Dwayne Johnson, Melissa McCarthy to lesser extent-- Cruise has lost bit of his power but does very well overseas

Box office draws as we know it are pretty much dead these days, though.

It's a notable sad truth. Wow, that's impressive for Boss Baby. Looks like Ghost in the Shell last hope is with the OS market. It better pray it follows Triple X's path. Get Out continues to have small drops. Dang! Yeah, especially in China and Japan for Ghost in the Shell. The Boss Baby is doing pretty impressive, naturally, for being the only animated general audience movie out at the moment. And from a major studio like Dreamworks. Though I'm a bit more concerned with how it may do against Smurfs for the following week. Get Out still has an impressive run overall, just too many crowded competitors are causing it to drop a bit.

Yeah, outside of Leo, its like only those 2 others listed who are reliable to some extent Will be interesting to see how Rough Night does and Scarlett's future trajectory now

There's a movie called Boss Baby? Up until like a month ago, I thought that and Baby Driver were the same film, and every time either one of them came up I thought, not even Edgar Wright can pull off talking babies.

I can't imagine the budget will be very big. Johansson's career should be okay, as long as he sticks to indies / Marvel films for a while.

Agreed Rough Night should do fine and possibly breakout, shes guaranteed work with Marvel, and has Oscar bait indies lined up-- shes popular A list actress still overall

The Boss Baby had a better weekend than Trolls, which is kind of a win for DreamWorks, I guess? Still, not as big as Illumination Entertainment movies. The Boss Baby could maybe do $360 million WW.

It's so weird that their original films is making way more than their franchise films in America. Their only sequel that outgrossed the original DWS film of that year was Madagascar 3.
