Series 1 was truly excellent, addictive TV. Series 2 was extremely flawed but frequently entertaining. Series 3 has, so far, been a frustrating mix of powerful themes executed well and over-the-top, absurd mystery drama.
So overall, a mixed-bag of a show.

The red herrings gave me so much blue balls I couldn't continue.

I saw the pilot episode and I wasn't impressed unfortunately. It seemed very generic whodunnit and thought the acting was pretty questionable. Maybe, I should give it a chance.

It was better than S2, but I still think it was way too dragged out and convoluted. It definitely started and ended strong though, and Tennant and Colman were as great as ever.

Hmm, I gave up on season two early on. Is it closely connected to the second one, or can I just jump to it?

How is Charlotte Rampling in this? I'm considering streaming this series... She's good! She and Baptiste both very worthy additions to the cast. Though she's only in the second season, so you have to watch the whole first one just to get to her.

I think it might be something I genuinely enjoy outside of Rampling's involvement, so I'll probably give it a whirl.
