You guys aren't the new rules you have to have been in a film in last five years? So we are looking for an old white lady who has been in a movie in the last five years...
Okay Shirley Macclaine.

Hence why she did it under the guise of anonymity. You are obviously very GULLIBLE, lol. You do realize this has all been a joke, right?

Little Women's structure was confusing as hell. I am genuinely so confused whenever people say this, lol. There's nothing about Little Women, which is a pretty average coming of age story, that lends itself to a nonlinear structure. All the editing accomplished was chopping up the narrative in confusing ways, reducing the flashbacks to a highlight reel and dulling the most emotional moments. It's Louisa May Alcott, not Memento or Cloud Atlas.

Maybe Olivia de Havilland lmao No way she liked Joker. This made me mentally picture OdH watching Joker making disapproving faces. She probably wouldn't have a problem voting for foreign films either.

I kinda wanna speculate on who this is... any theories? 40ish white lady... “I was in L.A. in the '60s, and I thought he captured that era perfectly.” Even someone who’s 49 would only have been born in the 1970’s. For someone to speak of the ‘60’s as though they were an adult then... I’m guessing she’s in her 80’s. I guess it’s Hollywood-fitting though in a way anyway, since women in their 40’s often may as well be in their 80’s there....!! Nationalism always shocks me... but it’s if anything funny (in an otherwise you’d despair kind of way) at something like The Oscars which quite clearly are a bigger deal if they genuinely award the best films from the whole world & are a lot more insignificant if they are only truly about the best Americans!

Her nationalism is pathetic but of the ones I've seen, she's dead on about The Irishman and Marriage Story. How is her nationalism pathetic?

But why would she slam The Irishman. Scorsese had directed her to an Oscar nod and BAFTA win in the '70s. And I would assume that she knows DeNiro, Pacino, Pesci from that era. That doesn't mean she has to love everything he does, just because she knows him. Anyone who trashes IRISHMAN is a goddamn braindead IMBECILE.

Dulling the most emotional moments?? It enhances the most emotional moments. I mean, the scene where Jo walks down the stairs and discovers that Beth has died ... that does not have half the impact if it's not contrasted with the moment it mirrors in the past. To me, one of the film's central themes is about the bittersweet tragedy of growing up and leaving your childhood behind, so the fact that the childhood scenes all unfold fleetingly as flashbacks just brings such a potent element of longing for that time that permeates the entire film. Not to mention, the structure is not confusing at all ... the two time periods are clearly distinguished by the characters having different looks, being in different settings, dealing with different conflicts, etc., I mean, it's always really clear and easy to follow, even as someone who had never been exposed to this story before. Now, maybe the fact that I had no prior familiarity with the story made the unconventional structure work for me, but now that I've seen it, it's hard to imagine the story being presented in another way.
