I’m seeing her pop up in a lot of predictions. A way to reward her and respond to the backlash over her snub while still giving Dern the Oscar win in the end.

I think an awful lot of it is wishful thinking. This wasn't a Regina King situation where screeners didn't get sent until the last minute. Laura Dern is also immensely respected as acting royalty by the industry.
If there's going to be a shock upset, it'll likely be in Best Actress.

If J-Lo couldn't win the Globe, the SAG is much harder. Laura Dern is a big union person. She is also nominated for Big Little Lies.
With J-Lo, her missing was more shocking to her fans and certain people in the media. Indie Wire had dropped her from their predictions. The L.A. Times felt she was the most vulnerable. Scott Feinberg, who talks to Oscar voters, had Kathy Bates.
With Elba and Blunt, the front runners (Stallone, King) were not in the race.

There are no chances for JLo if you ask me.
I even predicted her for an Oscar nod but she missed. No way she wins SAG.

You mean a pity win a la Elba/Blunt? Yep. This is probably happening.

You mean a pity win a la Elba/Blunt? Yep. This is probably happening. Why, though? It's not like Lopez is that well-regarded in the industry . . . and in fact, that might've contributed to her snub, as a lot of people view her as a pop celeb first and an actor second.

You mean a pity win a la Elba/Blunt? Yep. This is probably happening. Based on what, because you are a J-Lo fan?
With Elba and Blunt, who were double nominees, the front runners (Stallone, King) were not in the competition.

LMAO. JLo fan? Hell to the no. I wasn't predicting her at all cause I did not want her to score the nod. I just think it is pity. I hope they don't go that route but you never know.

Nah don't see Dern losing at all. She's very respected among the acting community.

I don't see it happening. I can totally see her winning the Independent Spirit Award, though (unless of course, they decide to reward Shuzhen Zhao instead).

This was always more a fan thing. The reality is that snubs happens every year, even to those who are revered. People in the industry understand that's part of the business. Also, organizations like SAG, AMPAS don't like being told what to do. J-Lo was never going to win. She needed the Globe to stay at least competitive.
