Doesn't have to be a first-time matchup either or different genders - maybe you'd rather see Pitt/DiCaprio team up again more than anything like Redford-Newman.........maybe a Pesci/Bates dream matchup as your cranky but lovable grandparents would work, maybe Hopkins/Pugh in a Lear-Cordelia reteam except this time it's Hopkins in the daughter role - ok right, bad idea.........but bonus points if you can come up with an actual project that your pick could do. Multiple picks and explanations welcomed, show some creativity - you have 19 names here - Phoenix/DiCaprio only goes so far yanno? Geesh........ ********************************************************************************************************BanderasDiCaprioDriverPhoenixPryceErivoJohanssonRonanTheronZellweggerHanksHopkinsPacinoPesciPittBatesDernPughRobbie

Pryce as a grumpy dad to Phoenix's eccentric son in a slapstick comedy. And whenever Phoenix does something weird, his old man looks at him like...

Almost every possible combination!!!
Banderas with Leo/Robbie/Theron, Pacino with Phoenix/Hanks/Dern, Hopkins with Johansson/Pesci, Bates with Pesci/Pitt/Driver...
I guess I'd love to see Al and Hanks teaming up in a Spielberg war drama. Or Pesci with Bates as old timers directed by Alexander Payne. Or Banderas and Robbie in a Coens rom-com.

Pacino and Hopkins in something a little more worthy than Misconduct.

Pacino and Hopkins in something a little more worthy than Misconduct. Indeed - they are also in many ways actor equivalents too - ie Pacino as Brando's heir, Hopkins as Olivier's - it's not exact - you could argue some others as each of those guys "heirs" - but with the distinguished stage work (before Hopkins walked away from it), very memorable TV work, and film roles you could also see them swapping (Pacino in Magic, Hopkins in Merchant of Venice!) they evoke each other a whole lot imo.

Pacino and Saoirse Ronan as Lear and Cordelia, of course.... but another for Pacino....
Few years ago Scorsese mentioned he'd like to adapt the Marilynne Robinson books... Gilead or Home, or both? I haven't read them but seems one of them concerns an old ailing reverend and his alcoholic son, and I'm thinking Pacino and I'd like Joaquin as the son, but ol' Marty might cast Adam Driver to loosely connect the Silence character to it.
Another:
Hanks and Laura Dern as a long married couple, full of resentment and alcohol , in the vein of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf or God of Carnage

There seems to be a lot of love there. Maybe with Scorsese or maybe with Tarantino since I hope that if he's really serious about retiring that he writes a great part for Keitel in his final film after giving him so much love at the Critics Choice.

Adam Driver and Margot Robbie in Move On. 2019's Blacklist script winner. Google for description. On phone. I know there's a really big compilation of screenplays on the Black List, but I found it too unwieldy. Here's a link to a summary of only Move On. As for Move On, it could be interesting, but it could also make me roll my eyes a lot, lol, because the first site I went to was article about the problems the screenplay has. I had to hit the back button really quick when they almost revealed a big spoiler though, . Hopefully it either works better onscreen, or they fix some of the screenplay problems because it does seem like it could annoy me if the rest of the film isn't strong enough for me to overlook some of the holes in the story.

If there were to be a white American remake of Parasite that isn't as good but wins lots more white Oscar, I might propose the following cast:
Mr. Kim: Joaquin Phoenix Mrs. Kim: Charlize Theron Sister Kim: Saoirse Ronan Mr. Park: Leonardo DiCaprio Mrs. Park: Margot Robbie Housekeeper: Kathy Bates Housekeeper's Husband: Jonathan Pryce Driver: Brad Pitt
No nominated actors that fit the ages of the younger characters, so I'm leaving them out. Thought for a hot second about Adam Driver as the main character, but it's a very uncomfortable thought.

Great post as usual I want to see all of them in american remake of Bunuel's Exterminating Angels, mixed with murder plot ala Clue. Invited by the unknown Al Pacino, With Hopkins and Bates as the master of ceremony, Erivo as the Maid. The Guests will be Leo and Theron as marriage couple in the brink of divorce, Pitt and Banderas are two rich gay couple, Johannson and Robbie as lesbian couple, Pryce and Joaquin as troubled father and son, Pesci as Mad Scientist with De Niro as his Frankenstein experiment, Pedophile Hanks with dominant wife Dern with their nosy daughter Pugh, Zellweger as Faded opera singer, and Driver and Ronan as the innocent newlyweds. Jfc this is the most wild thing I've seen and I want it

The twist is they're killed off one-by-one by the people living in the basement: Pacino's discarded former mistress (Lopez), a homeless father (Song) and daughter (Awkwafina), and a pair of random neighborhood lunatics (Sandler and Dafoe).

How about an adaptation of Paradise Lost: Brad Pitt as the charming and seductive Satan, Pacino as God with Joaquin reprising his role as Jesus, Driver and Robbie as Adam and Eve, and ScarJo as the Tree of Knowledge.

Next Michael Mann crime epic. DiCaprio stars as a charismatic, brilliant bank robber in Los Angeles. The only remaining member of his former crew is his unhinged younger brother, Phoenix, who's completely lost himself on a downward spiral of self-destruction. Driver plays the crooked cop desperately trying to track down DiCaprio as he prepares for his biggest score yet. Theron is the sophisticated woman DiCaprio falls in love with, while Driver is trapped in a loveless marriage with his estranged young wife, Robbie, while he falls in love with a witness from a recent case, Erivo, who may bring him back to the light. Hopkins plays DiCaprio's old mentor, Banderas plays a career criminal whose help DiCaprio enlists for the big heist, and Pacino is the ornery police captain who orders Driver to turn in his badge and gun at the end of the second act.

All of them playing in a remake of Murder by Death... Ok, not really. But I'd definitely watch it. I'd love to see a remake of Murder By Nominee with the Oscar nominee. Just to start with, Tom Hanks can play Sam Diamond, Anthony Hopkins would be perfect as Dick Charleston, and Al Pacino can the billionaire who invites all the detective to dinner.
