1. Johansson - I was very impressed. I preferred Driver a tad more, but I hope that Johansson ends up being able to upset because I think she deserves it this year, and I can see Driver winning for something else.
2. Ronan - Maybe not her impressive performance, but I thought she had a lot of fine moments especially when she's dealing with Beth's illness and the subsequent fallout.
3. Zellweger - It was my favorite performance of the year, and right after seeing it, I got the feeling that she would win because it was so baity. However, I think the rest of the film brings her down, and her performance is uneven especially before she moves to England, imo.
4. Nyong'o - I think I'm one of the few here that really liked Us; although I do have to have to admit that the third act really brings in down a lot especially having Nyong'o do all the exposition about what happened. I think Nyong'o was good, but I prefer other performances more.
5. Awkwafina - She's fine. I would have gone with any of the other nominees in her Globe category, but I don't think she's terrible, so at least she made history by finally being the first Asian actress to win a leading Globe.
-I have to admit that being sick for the past few weeks has kicked my butt, so I couldn't make it out of the house to go to the movies for awhile. I felt better the past few days and was going to go see 1917 and either Bombshell or Just Mercy, but I'm still coughing and started to feel weird right before I went to see 1917 that I would have an embarrassing coughing fit during it, so I canceled because I don't want to disrupt the movie for others. So I haven't seen Bombshell yet, and I missed Harriet when it first came out. I was going to go see it, but something always came up.
Clemency still hasn't made it here, but looking at the big campus theater, it should be here in two weeks. So hopefully I'll have recovered and be able to see it by then.

is Woodard even in the top 8. Haven't seen her yet but she looks great in the trailer. I really think I'll like that performance a lot when I get to see it. not really crazy about any of the rest of these sans Johansson. Theron and Zellweger are pretty good. 1. Johnasson 2. Theron 3. Zellweger 4. Ronan 5. Awkwafina 6. Erivo 7. Nyong'o

I think maybe de Armas would be 8th even though she has no chance because of Knives Out doing so well, and getting the Globes nomination. Really whoever is in 8th place is probably way behind the top 7. Then I guess Woodard could be 9th because she did hit Gotham and the Spirits, and I think she and Clemency have gotten more attention than Diane, and Buckley's BAFTA nomination for Wild Rose was one of their things that they do. If Queen & Slim had more time to built up buzz, I think that Turner-Smith could have been more of a factor, but she's probably not even top 10 even with the great box office of Q&S.

Awkwafina, The Farewell Lupita Nyong'o, Us Scarlett Johansson, Marriage Story Charlize Theron, Bombshell Renée Zellweger, Judy Cynthia Erivo, Harriet
N/S Alfre Woodard, Clemency Saoirse Ronan, Little Women
Worst contenders this decade. Haven't seen them all and Woodard is my most anticipated female performance of the year.
