Because say what you will about the movies, and their dips in quality, but he’s always been the one constant. As far as I’m concerned, Star Wars has the greatest musical continuity of any film series, and you can never give Johnny enough credit. But how do you rank them?
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars
3. The Force Awakens
4. The Phantom Menace
5. Return of the Jedi
6. The Last Jedi
7. Attack of the Clones
8. The Rise of Skywalker
9. Revenge of the Sith
Calling any of them the worst should not be an insult. I love every single one of them dearly.
And I didn’t count Rogue One or Solo, but I’d rank them eighth and 11th respectively.

1. The Phantom Menace ("Duel of the Fates" alone nabs it the top spot)
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. A New Hope
4. The Last Jedi
5. The Force Awakens
6. Return of the Jedi
7. Revenge of the Sith
8. Attack of the Clones
I don't remember much of the score for Rise of Skywalker enough to make much of a judgment call, but it didn't stand out at all, so I'd probably put it last on principle.

I don't like his sequel trilogy work at all, and cannot remember a single thing about it, so it's just nostalgia getting him nominations. I lump the OT and Phantom Menace scores in a grand foursome. Empire and Phantom Menace probably the best two scores of the series.

1. A New Hope (can't go against the original one that started it all - it's insane to rewatch the movie now and think that there was a time when nobody had heard that music)
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. The Force Awakens
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Return of the Jedi
6. The Rise of Skywalker
7. Attack of the Clones
8. The Phantom Menace
9. The Last Jedi
I also think that all of them are truly spectacular, each a masterwork in its own way so this ranking is not a dig at any of them. All are brilliant.
