A few weeks before, I considered it would definitely get a directing nod. Now I don't see it happening. Also no editing and, who knows, maybe no score. Just some bold predictions, after all. (It's not going to gather many awards come Oscar night, I guess. Same goes for the Irishman). But Baumbach is not expected to be nominated for Director. It did get an ACE nod, but that was a surprise. A film like Marriage Story isn't going to get a lot of tech awards.
Gold Derby predicts it will win Supporting Actress and Original Screenplay.
I no longer think that it will win Original Screenplay, but it should probably be okay in Supporting Actress. I guess anything can still happen, but Dern won the Globes which was the best place for Lopez to beat Dern, and Critics Choice will likely follow because they just want to be right about who wins the Oscar, and the other award shows will probably follow too. I guess there's a slight chance that Johannson, who is double nominated at SAG and BAFTA, or Robbie who is double nominated at BAFTA could surprise, and change the race, but until it happens I think Dern has got it. Anyhow I don't think Marriage Story will underperform either. I don't see it overperforming but it should get all of its expected nominations. The three actors should be in with no problem and Best Picture and Original Screenplay are "locked" now. Score is the only place where I guess it could miss since Newman did miss BAFTA, but he's a favorite and been recognized almost everywhere else, so he's probably okay too. I think Little Women could overperform because it's almost underperformed all awards season, so I think it will finally surprise. I think Joker will "underperform" in relation to how well it did at BAFTA, but will still be a lock for winning Best Actor and be nominated for Best Picture. Not sure about OUATIH. I think it should do as well as expected or perhaps do a bit better since I'm expecting it to win BP. (Although Green Book won BP last year and sort of underperformed by missing director, so maybe that's not the best thing to to look at.) I feel like Parasite will be like Marriage Story and just get its predicted nominations or maybe even underperform. Hopefully I'm wrong, but while Parasite has done better with critics than Roma, I feel like there was more of a set path for Roma to win Best Picture in that Cuaron won DGA and it won BAFTA whereas I think Parasite only wins Best Film Not in the English Language at BAFTA. I guess Bong could win DGA, but I think it's between Tarantino and Mendes. I guess Parasite did overperform at SAG compared to Roma, but I feel like it lost momentum after the Globes and BAFTA nominations

Uncut Gems in Original Screenplay. Adam Sandler over Taron Egerton in Actor. Song Kang-ho in Supporting Actor. The Lighthouse in Cinematography. (Probably not that bold as a result of the BAFTA nom) "A Glass of Soju", "Glasgow" and "I'm Standing With You" in Song.
Edit - Oh, and I'm predicting that Apollo 11 is going to get snubbed.

If he does get snubbed then always stick with your gut. Ugh. I've been calling for one all season but decided to give in to it happening.

Where? Driver, ScarJo, Dern, Baumbach (OS) have never missed. The film got PGA. And it has enough support from the acting branch for a Best Picture nod. And Randy Newman for Score is an Academy favorite. A few weeks before, I considered it would definitely get a directing nod. Now I don't see it happening. Also no editing and, who knows, maybe no score. Just some bold predictions, after all. (It's not going to gather many awards come Oscar night, I guess. Same goes for the Irishman). BOOM! It got in everywhere it was expected - Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actress, Original Screenplay, Score. It wasn't expected for Director or Editing.
