Considered the first era of Hollywood modernization that peaked around 1956 - at that time at least. I like this decade a lot. Really like to go with The Day the Earth Stood Still for 1951, Seven Samurai for 1954, and a whole heck of a bunch of movies for 1959 like Imitation of Life. It's an improvement from the 30s and 40s for sure.
