Mostly because I'm looking for something to watch tonight -- preferably something I haven't seen before. And bonus points if it's currently available on the Criterion Channel!
But anyway I'll get the ball rolling and mention Goodfellas which I watched the other night and despite the fact that only a small fraction of it is set during the holidays, it's always had a Christmas movie feel to me. Might be because AMC (I think) has an annual mob movie marathon on Christmas, idk if that's still a thing or not ... The Irishman kinda has same the effect for me, too.
Go!

Beauty and the Beast (1991). Remarkably fun, GREAT songs, and it feels like a Christmas set fairy tale despite having no festive setting. Babette's Feast is another good one (and I assume it's on Criterion channel). One of the gentlest, kindest, most peaceful works of goodwill towards men ever created. It's absolutely a Christmas movie 100%, but you should check out Tokyo Godfathers. Which isn't a mob movie, it's a cartoonish comedy. Still the most "fun" Christmas film. Again, it's a Christmas film but I see no rating from you on Letterboxed: The Lion in Winter. A lot of fun if you want to escape your horrible family for an even more horrible family, that makes you grateful that your parents aren't these people.

Lincoln is my go-to non-holiday related holiday viewing. Fills me with a profound sense of hope and the ensamble makes the dialogue sing which is just perfect for having on while preparing Christmas dinner.

The last few years we've watched The General either on Christmas or Christmas eve.

Family movies mostly, even if they're non-Christmas.
(The Wizard of Oz, E.T., Goonies, Uncle Buck, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids...)

I like to watch my favorite classics around Christmas. The Graduate, Gone With the Wind, Doctor Zhivago. I've watched Phantom Thread near Christmas the past several years too.

I've watched Phantom Thread near Christmas the past several years too. Yep yep, this one for me as well. Another one where only a fraction of it is set during the holidays, but it's an essential part of the film and the entire thing just has this holiday season quality to it that makes it synonymous to this time of year, at least in my mind. On the subject of PTA, Magnolia's always kinda felt like a Christmas movie to me, too.

It feels wintery but also has those deep Christmasy colors, so it doesn't feel like January wintery.
