Man if J. Lo couldn't win here with one of her biggest supporters, Clayton Davis as a member, maybe she'll be vulnerable for the nomination?
I mean it's not only that Lopez lost, but that she lost to who most think is the frontrunner right now, and that's a frontrunner that many have said doesn't really do anything in her film worthy of an Oscar.

Pesci winning both New York awards. What Pesci needs and it pains me to say this, is Pacino to miss at the Globes to turn it into a 2 person shot with Pitt.......and a 2 picture shot......that is the big elephant in the room for the next couple of days - like I said yesterday if I was Pitt I wouldn't be worried but if Pitt loses LA and Pesci is the sole supporting actor nominee for the Globes.......that's the 1-2 punch he needs. Lot of signs that Irishman may win this BP too today.......

Pesci off course is very good but it's not a big showy performance like Pacino who is a bigger legend and has a more of an Oscar IOU than Pesci.

It's worth noting that Pesci is unlikely to campaign and is notoriously prickly and laconic, whereas Pitt and Pacino are consummate schmoozers and insiders in the industry -- they know how to work the circuit. Pesci would have to either be the undeniable critics' juggernaut who sweeps so thoroughly that Netflix refocuses their strategy, and if the Academy's in a "recognize the work, not the campaign" mood like they did with Rylance and Colman. Still, it's odd that Pacino has been absent at places you'd have expected him to appear.

All this Pesci love is tempting me to get my hopes up, but I'm not going to, as the for every Colman moment, I have at least 10 where the Oscars piss on my dreams.
That Rocketman win for use of music is a damn fine choice.

It's worse when you factor in Hustlers made the top ten list.

Laura Dern has actually been getting career-best reviews for Marriage Story. She has been heralded by critics for her speech in the movie that is her Oscar moment (like Regina King).

As pleased as I am for Parasite, I'm far more pleased for I Lost My Body. I hope some of this critical love can translate to an Oscar nomination.
Also, three of my current acting winners took the wins here.
