Which of these two highly acclaimed South Korean films do you like more?
I loved them both but i give Parasite the edge.

Parasite by an unbelievable amount. Burning was pretty but did nothing for me.

Parasite is really damn good, but it gets a little less interesting to me in the second half, whereas Burning is sort of the opposite for me. It gets better and better as it goes along, and even improves significantly on rewatch. Burning gets my vote.

Great comparison! Both flatout masterpieces and thematically very similar (minus the juicy homoeroticism and masculinity stuff), buuuut I can't deny that Parasite is so much more watchable. I had a blast watching it.

Parasite. Didn’t care for Burning though I appreciated what it was going for.

Parasite by miles. Truly a perfect film in my eyes, and I'm dying to re-watch it when I get the chance.
Burning is an interesting case. There was lots to like, particularly the look and the acting, but it was a case where I was putting my faith in the ending to seal the deal after the very slow-burn first two hours, and for me it didn't deliver. I really enjoyed reading about it afterwards, and it would maaaybee improve for me on a re-watch, but I was so frustrated - and, honestly, bored - by much of it that the idea of sitting through it again isn't too appealing.

Parasite is brilliant.
Burning is a start to finish lame duck.

Parasite. Burning is boring.

I've only seen Parasite once and I liked it more on first viewing, but Burning only got better and better with repeat viewings and I'm not sure yet how Parasite will hold up.

Parasite is more entertaining, more powerful and an altogether tighter film. Burning has its qualities (Steven Yeun, and the cinematography in particular), but is an extremely flabby piece of meat.

On paper Burning seems like the type of movie I'd go nuts for, but it completely fell flat for me. Parasite isn't the second coming of Christ or anything but it clearly wins here.

Parasite is more direct and digestible, whereas Burning has an underlying mystery to it that I found more interesting. Both are very good films, but I'll give Burning the edge.

That's a good question I asked myself after seeing Parasite as well. And I'm still not sure what's the right answer. I liked both films a lot. Parasite is much easier and more fun to watch, but I love the mystery that Burning represents. Right of now I'd maybe give Parasite the edge, but I need to watch them both a second time.

Burning was top 10 of the year for me but Parasite is definitely one of my favorite films of the decade so I’m gonna give it the edge.

Burning was at the top of my most anticipated list last year and sounds like everything I should love but it didn't work for me at all.

I love both, Parasite is much more enjoyable and easy to like but with Burning, Lee Chang-dong created a movie that's so intelligent, so complex, so deep and rich...I'm at my 4th viewing and I'm still in awe at all the details, metaphors, ideas he put in that film, a marvelous creation, a Masterpiece. I said that I love both but it's not F/cking close.
