Instead of Danny Ocean's sister or whatever attempting to reboot a dead franchise, let's just remake it from the ground up. Rules are that this must be a heist film, and it has to be a comedy.
THE SETTING
Actor Al Pacino has it all: a gorgeous mansion, women at his beck and call, a trash bag full of slippers and ratty tee shirts from Goodwill, the adulation of the masses... and one golden Oscar statuette. Until one day, a new generation of actor arrives. Suave, handsome, charming Denzel Washington arrives on the scene, and suddenly Al's glory days are behind him. Denzel sweeps up TWO Oscars and goes on to become known as the world's Greatest Living Actor, leaving Al bankrupt, alone, forgotten.
"You see, the whole point of having money is so that other people know that you got it. I wanna get me a big 50-ft. Chris-Craft and not even put it in the water. Just gonna leave it in my driveway, maybe give it to the mailman or somebody like that." says the tuxedo-attired Denzel to Al's face as he takes away Al's mansion, his wife, his priceless awards, and everything that is dear to him.
Today, Al has decided that he won't take it anymore. Hiring a ragtag team of crooks, thieves and liars, he will take back what is his. As his team cases the estate that was once his home, a plan is set in motion to take not just Al's belongings... but his life, his livelihood. This is Pacino's Eleven.
STARRING
Al Pacino as himself
Robert De Niro as Rusty De Vito, his trusted friend
Colin Hanks as Linus Gump, whose father was a great actor
Daniel Craig as Cletus Broderick, southern gentleman turned demolitions expert
Stephen Fry as Alastair Stephens, Denzel's butler with a grudge
Lewis Pullman and Andrew Garfield as "The Hooker Boys," obnoxious jacks of all trades
Martin Scorsese as himself, the gang's disgruntled bankroll
Saoirse Ronan as Edie Malone, surveillance expert
Judi Dench as Kelly Dotson, a skilled con artist
Warwick Davis as Conroy Higgins, their man in a tight spot
Denzel Washington as himself
Ms Movie Star as his wife
Nicole Kidman as his mistress
Keanu Reeves as Jan Vickman, Denzel's head of security with no criminal background whatsoever.
