Can't believe I let a month go by without seeing this. I have my favorites of ones you've done, but this may be the best. Starting with that gloominess with the "Meal Ticket" dialogue over it (the way it matches with the images is almost freaky), then getting more upbeat (that Barry Pepper cut Viced mentioned is, indeed, perfect) then that abrupt cut into the bleak with the Chigurh bathroom shot that stops the music, then into the melancholic and existential. I can't think of a more perfect way to encapsulate everything they've ever done, and their masterful understanding of tone, into seven minutes. I also can't get enough of that cut from A Serious Man's last shot to Barton looking at the picture for some reason. It's also a nice reminder that, while overshadowed by Deakins' brilliance, Sonnenfeld's work on their earlier movies has always been greatly underappreciated. Loved the inclusion of Paris, je t'aime, which helps it feel complete. Amazing.
