A brilliantly written and directed film which is based on one the darkest and most controversial events in french history.Naturally I was familiar with the whole "Dreyfus Gate" but it still managed to bring to my attention some details and facts that I wasn't aware of or had completely forgotten about. The casting is flawless especially MsMovieStar dream lover Jean Dujardin who delivers his best performance in years. The cinematography and costumes are absolutely exquisite. Some moments felt a little bit too slow for my taste but don't worry , they didn't hurt that much the quality of the film. This film would be a very worthy winner for Best Pic at the Césars Awards next year but given the recent controversial affair surrounding Polanski ( he's been accused of raping another girl back in 1975) , I don't see that happening now. Still that Grand Prix Du Jury Award at the last Venice Film Festival was very well deserved .
8/10
ps : I still Polanski's best film of the 10's is THE GHOST WRITER ,though
