Carmen San Diego, Lou Nanne.
No I kid. Just a thread for filmmakers or actors who have disappeared lately for seemingly no reason at all and maybe you like their stuff and want to see them again.
I'll start with Michael Stulbarg. Seemingly in every goddamn Oscar nominated movie from 2015 to 2017 where he played a tertiary role he's completely disappeared from the face of the Earth. He didn't have any lead roles in this decade to my knowledge and 2018 & '19, not even a peep. And I don't believe he has anything in development either. What gives? I like the guy a ton.

Great idea for a thread. I was thinking of this the other day but I don't remember which actor/actress I was thinking about, maybe it'll come to me.
Stuhlbarg has some things going on (thank god). He's been doing a lot of TV lately (Looming Tower last year, a British miniseries this year, aaaaannd an upcoming miniseries developed by Bryan Cranston). On top of all that, he's going to be in Josephine Decker's next film called "Shirley," which I imagine will surface next year.

And I reeaally liked Madeline's Madeline so I'll be keeping that on the radar.

I guess Martin Brest hasn't been tarred and feathered enough - he made Midnight Run, Scent of a Woman, Beverly Hills Cop, Going in Style. Not too shabby .....
He was 52 when he made Gigli (2003) which we don't even know really how much of the finished (awful) film was his responsibility even.

I miss Alan Parker who hasn't directed a movie since 2003's The Life Of David Gale when he was in his late 50's, his main reason (because there is always a reason) "Directors do not improve with age, they repeat themselves. And while there are exceptions, their work generally does not get any better. This is the reason why I have decided not to make any more films" Ok Alan...
I'm glad that Fernando Meirelles is back this year with The Two Popes, his career trajectory has been weird during the last 10 years, mostly filming few episodes/segments of Brazilian's TV series, I didn't want him to end like a Victor Erice, who has made 2 brillant films (The Spirit of the Beehive and El Sur) and almost disappeared since +35 years.
