I'm mostly digging the season, although I hate the time-sink of Island of the Idols. I've long been tired of Rob and Sandra, and this season has catered to their egos in a really masturbatory way. They have bought into their own hype and it's really aggravating to watch. I will say this, though: this most recent episode makes me wonder if they are undermining Sandra in particular. She stated that Elaine "never knows anything" in her observations of the tribal council, but we saw five minutes earlier that Elaine knew exactly what was happening and where the vote was going. Why would they show us that? It leads me to wonder if perhaps the show is subtly undermining Sandra because perhaps she doesn't do nearly as well in the all-winners season . It isn't the first time they've been undermined, either; Sandra remarked that she liked Vince (who got blindsided) and Rob called Karishma "smart" (which she might be, but she's proving to be an extremely emotional player who is setting herself up for F3 goat status). Also, Kellee is the only person to benefit from IOI so far; could be a sign that the "twist" winds up not being much of a factor going forward. As for the cast, it's a good bunch. I will say this most recent vote made me think that no one from Lairo is winning. I think Missy made a massive blunder in ousting Chelsea; why burn an ally who was tight with you, all to save someone who is so wishy-washy they will flip in a second, and then carpet-bomb your bond with Karishma at tribal? Big move-itis is all it is, and I will bet dollars to donuts that Missy winds up the shock pre-merge boot because of it. As for who's looking like potential winners at this point? Tommy (great edit), Kellee (got a nice story building), and Jason (Nick Wilson-esque comeback from a rough premiere). I'd probably put money on Jason at this point; I feel his bond with Noura will see him far into the game, and I am willing to bet that they become prime swing vote candidates at a swap.

The Island of the Idols is really lame. It's both worse and not as bad as I was expecting, somehow. But it's such a waste of time that takes away from the entertaining cast and intense game play going on.

This has been a really rough week for me and I’ve been dreading the episode tomorrow. I’ve been reading countless articles, listening to podcasts, trying to absorb other people’s perspectives and viewpoints. What it really comes down to is production fucked up and it makes me sick. There should have been a better detailed warning at the start because for some people that was two hours of triggering torture — not to mention some resources at the end of the episode on the screen. Dan should have been removed from the game. Missy and Elisabeth’s actions make my heart ache. Seeing Kellie sitting on the jury and having to be silenced during that second tribal was awful and she has so much strength. Janet is a beautiful person. I truly do not know where we go from here. This is a mess and none of this should have happened. Kellie confronted Dan on day one and yet we have so much more footage of all the other situations he is involved in — but okay Aaron, you’re a man and you would know if it happened or not because your mother has a vagina. I CANNOT.

So where we go from here is apparently just business as usual.

I know that this season has had one hell of a damper on it, but I'll throw a guess at what happens in the finale.
Final 5: Janet's totally getting idol-nullified. They wouldn't have shown that scene of Dean and Elaine stumbling upon her and Tommy otherwise. I think Tommy winds up sacrificing Janet, Dean gets the move, and all of a sudden, Dean becomes Tommy's biggest contender at the finals.
Final 4: Dean wins immunity. Because he has the late-game momentum, he takes Tommy to the end, forcing Noura and Lauren to face off at fire. (Strategic wisdom would dictate that Dean takes Noura and lets Lauren/Tommy face off, but I think Dean's over-confidence comes into play here). Noura wins against Lauren at fire.
Final 3: Tommy is well-liked as a social player and has many friends in the jury, but Dean's late-game surge gives him some actual clout (especially as I feel his fake-of-a-fake legacy advantage will get praise from Rob and Sandra, who I expect will be vocal advocates at FTC), and I think despite his rather goofy edit, he actually becomes the stealth threat to win. There have been clues that Tommy has been underestimating Dean at crucial moments ("I think the legacy advantage is real," for example), and I wonder if Dean's status as the perpetual underdog and "last Lairo standing" gives him that edge. I don't expect Noura to win any votes, and I frankly think if she does, she funnels them off of Tommy, not Dean.
So even though all signs point to a Tommy win, his toneless edit and lack of characterization (which is strange, considering that by all accounts, Tommy is a fun guy who has a personality) leads me to think he may be a "Big Red" herring. Detective Dean might be more than a goat; he might be the guy who turns it on at the last minute, has the visible moves on his resume, had the jury management highlight. All we need to see is how he sells his moves, and I think he might steal the prize at the end.
Looking at how I think the votes shake out:
Jack - Tommy Kellee - Dean (closest bond of the three, probably respects the move he made) Jamal - leaning towards Tommy, but might swing Dean's way if he can sell that legacy advantage move well enough Aaron - also leaning towards Tommy, but I wouldn't rule out Dean depending on how he sells his game. Missy - Up in the air at this point. I think she'll go with whoever has the most blood on their hands. Elizabeth - Also up in the air, but I can see her backing Dean as the last Lairo standing. Karishma - Honestly, have no idea. She didn't have much of a bond with Tommy, she and Dean were heavy rivals, and she and Noura clashed near the end. She might be the deciding vote. Elaine - Tommy, but I can see her also voting for Dean or even Noura depending on their FTCs. Janet - Tommy. Lauren - Tommy.
So that's four firm Tommy votes on paper right now and at least two probable votes as well, which is more than enough to win him the game, but if Dean sells his game well enough, maybe (just maybe) he can sneak the victory by swinging those O.G. Lairos. I can see O.G. Lairo actually rallying to back their last tribemate standing, sans Karishma, but if Dean is contrite enough, I can see Karishma respecting his game at the end, because it's not like she has a bond with Tommy to fall back on.
