It’s been a crazy last few days, where they withheld winnings for one of their Hearthstone players, because of pro-Hong Kong liberation speech. They say it’s because it violated their (incredibly vague and convenient) “disagreeable speech” rules, but really, it’s because they’re in bed with the Chinese government.
I’ll let this Jim Sterling video speak for itself, because it explains it better than I could:
As a result, there’s been calls for boycotts, mass walkouts, and if you go to Activision’s and Blizzard’s twitter feeds and replies, it’s not even about what they’re promoting, but calls to Liberate Hong Kong and insulting A/B.
They really want to challenge EA as the biggest dickhead in gaming. And while we’re at it, Fire Bobby Kotick!

NBA has had a similar thing going on with China pulling games after someone made a comment in support of HK -- the NBA's response was to backtrack the fuck out of there and try to cry that he's one bad apple. They're more in the spotlight by virtue of being more culturally significant than A/B, but it's the same ugly moneygrubbing. God forbid that any corporation have standards of decency.

Last week's episode of South Park was HUGELY critical of China, the NBA, and especially Disney as it pertains to this whole thing.
