Could the Best Supporting Actor category at the Oscars be filled with all former winners again, like in 2012?
The lineup very well could be: Al Pacino Joe Pesci Willem Dafoe Tom Hanks Anthony Hopkins
And if not, the alternates: Brad Pitt Christian Bale Gary Oldman Jamie Foxx
Spoilers include former nominees: John Lithgow Alan Alda
I see it happening. The only ones in the way really is Brad Pitt, who I can definitely see missing.

(And Pitt technically has an Oscar, just for producing)

Something tells me we're gonna have at least one non-winner in the five -- and I'm counting Pitt's producing Oscar in the mix.
I'm thinking right now: Dafoe, Hanks, Pacino, Pesci, Pitt. Hopkins for the alternate slot (and probable BAFTA nod), but misses out because Netflix decides to push harder for its Irishman boys, whereas I see Dafoe getting the hat trick of passion picks in eclectic, offbeat works.
One thing that should be remembered is that, like 2015 Supporting Actress, the Globes might decide to turn on some of the more blatant category frauds in this category, which might make it tougher for some to get a foothold.
