The Janet Gaynor Syndrome!!! or why actresses retire young

Janet Gaynor was born in 1906, in 1928 she received her first Oscar at the Age of 22 for 3 films. In 1931, 1932 and 1934 was tired the number one box office draw.
After a couple of bad years at box office, she return with a big hit and an Oscar nomination in  the first version of A Star is Born. She retired from as a Hollywood Star at 32, in 1939 she married fashion disagner Adrian, had a child, live between US and Brazil. After her husband death, she married a much younger Hollywood Producer

She lived  in permanent semiretirement until her death. She made some TV and theatre Plays, and only one movie Bernandine in 1957 which was a big hit at box office.-

The whole thing is that several actress, that started when they were very young, in their childhood or their teens, around 30  for different reason they retired or semiretired from the film industry.  

When they try to restart they have trouble to find jobs, like they had in their zenith.
Today some even had big comebacks, but this is another story.-

In a Me too world, when women ask for better salaries, film opportunities, and better work for middle age actresses, it's important to remember that when they could demand more money and better rolres, they retired.-
even when Hollywood is womanizer, it's also difficult to find good character to older women, when the femele box office maker are all already retired.

That's doesn't happened to men, maybe because they started later, and focus to  have a more large career. Any way, usually they retired or semi retired in their late 50s or early 60s.  Only a few continue working until their death, usually in supporting roles.-
Then when they returned, were  difficult for them to continue their careers.-

Not all ended their career, some returned in semiretired and usually in a more relax way, and some even continue working with continuity, even like  like Rita Hayworth   were even more succesful than in their prime, or Ingrid Bergman who won another 2 Oscar after an autoexile of 7 years.-
