Robbie looks lit but the trailer is a bit messy.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I think it looks fun. Although I could also see it being a total trainwreck, but I'm actually interested in seeing it now whereas before I had no interest in it.
Some parts of it reminded me of the new Charlie's Angels, and now I think they missed an opportunity to ramp up the craziness like this seems to be doing to make it stand out from the 2000 version.

I don’t know, I didn’t really like Deadpool 2 the first time around.

Looks like a goddamned awful vanity project (but it looks suitably "woke" with the whole Girl Power thing, so it'll probably get great reviews regardless of if it's actually good).
I think therealcomicman117 may be familiar with the source material for Birds Of Prey, and by the looks of the trailer, those characters have been royally bastardised to act as Harley Quinn's much less interesting sidekicks. They should never have let Margot Robbie produce this. Looks like they've ruined a great franchise with it's own mythology and stories for a star's ego.
Biggest offense looks to be the portrayal of the character Cassandra Cain. A melancholy deadly martial artist seems to have been turned into a peppy Disney Princess character for Harley to be playful with and crack jokes.
Looks like the sort of shit they used to make in the 90's when "filmmakers" thought they were so much better than comic book material, and it needed "fixing" to be a movie.

I didn't think it could be worse than Suicide Squad... but here we are...
Sadly this will probably get a high RT score.

Yeah, I don't think it's a particularly great trailer. It's actually kinda clumsily put-together. I'm sure the movie will do well, and it might be good, but I have all the right to be skeptical of its quality. As for it being faithful to the comics, it's not especially. I don't expect a Birds of Prey movie to follow the comics through and through, but it looks like a Harley Quinn movie that happens to feature the "ladies" from BOP, which is clear when they added the " And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn", bit to the title, just because she's a popular character played by a hot and current actress right now. Sure BOP is set in Gotham, but if they had played their cards right they could have made it more like the original comic with Black Canary and Barbara Gordon as Oracle. Instead it's clear like with all of these movies they're following more of the New 52 post current line-up, this one just feels more egregious. If they wanted to do a solo Harley Quinn movie, they should have just made a Harley Quinn movie, instead of adding characters like Huntress, and Black Canary, who have the potential to feel like background extras (I sure hope they're well-used).

The problem is that they know Harley Quinn isn't really a character that can carry a movie by herself, despite her popularity. She needs other characters to play off (like Joker or Suicide Squad) or else she becomes very irritating, real quickly. DC basically gave Robbie carte Blanche to use great female characters as props for her movie because of this. It was a choice between Birds Of Prey and Gotham City Sirens. Robbie chose the Birds, I suspect because the Sirens line-up ( Catwoman, Poison Ivy) are popular enough in the mainstream that Harley Quinn isn't guaranteed to be the "star". BOP was a great comic, and I agree that it's a shame we wont see a more faithful adaptation with the Barbara Gordon led team. It's just a clusterfuck and makes me thankful that actors don't have this kind of creative decision making power at Marvel. Not even Robert Downey Jr.

It's just a clusterfuck and makes me thankful that actors don't have this kind of creative decision making power at Marvel. Not even Robert Downey Jr.And that's my biggest concern. I'm not sure that Quinn will be able to carry her own movie plot-wise even with the Sirens backing her, because they're all seemingly playing secondary to her. There's potential for really bad tone and characterization, if they lean too much on her. At least with Marvel, they know how to juggle other characters, without having fall back on "a big name", if things don't go well. In comparison BOP doesn't look so great in that regard. Also a minor complaint, but while McGregor looks like he's having a good time in the role, but I'm not a fan of Black Mask actually lacking his trademark mask.

Still not approving the casting of Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis/Black Mask. Hope he proves me wrong.

I liked it! Far from great, but it looks fun and campy, bringing a more female-oriented look to the usual cartoonish movies. Robbie as Harley Quinn looks better as well, more restrained and more fun than sexy human prop.
