First of all, the 3 greatest American post-Brando actors have played Satan so maybe that HACK Rylance should stick to Shakespeare or something easy ok? Geesh ...........and this quote is priceless ......... Rylance added, “Terry wrote four versions of the character of Satan, and I thought I would play only one. But I heard I was going to play all four. One of them must have been a woman at some point, but it was when he asked me to grow a beard that I realized I wasn’t going to do it that way. I’m very happy to act for Terrence Malick, but I’m intrigued, because I hear he talks to you all the time. And coming from the theater, I’m not used to the director yelling at me while I act or tell me what to do. But his films always intrigued me.”

But they will be playing supporting roles to the scenery.

I thought Malick was busy with that Pokémon movie? As the screenwriter for that film, I can say that production has stalled because Daniel Day-Lewis was cast as Jigglypuff and he's been singing in random nightclubs and drawing on people's faces for months now.

I'll be there opening day just to see that.

Why doesn't this surprise me as a project that Malick would tackle?
However I'm not really that intrigued. The most interesting (and sad) news in that article is, what Rylance had about to say about the doubtful realisation of The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara.

Rylance says his part of the production will begin in October, so we should see the film premiere sometime around (wait, let me do the math…) 2022. These guys are really taking their time!!!

If you look at Malicks output this decade though and compare it with his career before it's clear that he has become a crazy workaholic

If you look at Malicks output this decade though and compare it with his career before it's clear that he has become a crazy workaholic I have long suspected that Malick's twenty-year hiatus wasn't unproductive, but that he was writing and coming up with ideas but hadn't yet figured out how to work them into narratives. The Tree of Life / To the Wonder / Knight of Cups / Song to Song really constitute one long Proustian autobiography/memoir for him, after all, dealing with what he was going through in that fallow period. It seems that A Hidden Life (a film dealing with faith and martyrdom) may yet be leading into a new phase for Malick, which will be continued with this project.

Outside Greece she's maybe more known for her soundtrack in Fury Road but she was the usual collaborator of Theo Angelopoulos and her work in his films was outstanding!!!

Very Malickian title that seems to be an intentional Biblical reference...

Being part of the cast of a Malick film and waiting for him to finish editing must be like waiting to hear back from an appeal on death row.
