I really like this comedy, especially Ingrid Bergman's performance, very relaxing performance from her. Probably Private Benjamin gave the funniest performance, but Bergman is so crazy in that dance scene. I love how she builds those awkward moments with Matthau.
Just caught it a few days ago and enjoyed it, but for how much I've enjoyed Diamond's work with Billy Wilder and Saks' (and Matthau's) work with The Odd Couple, I was disappointed considering the potential. The script is nice, but I think it kind of proves Diamond works best when Wilder is there to pick up the pieces (the scenarios were hilarious, but needed that extra bite that only Wilder can offer). Matthau also felt wasted in this sort of role that gave him very little room to maneuver. Was the Bergman and Hawn show all the way, but that's okay since they did fantastic work.
Overall, it's a cute, funny little film but nothing particularly memorable outside of Bergman and Hawn.
