What the fuck was that "Twitter review"?! You didn't like a movie or the performance, say it but don't insult the actors like that! And isn't that guy a very popular critic? He should know better.

Are you talking about the Lucy in the Sky Tweet? Because he just said that because that's what happened in the real life story the film is based on.

He's a movie hating snarky jag-off actually - America's very own Robbie Collin, who thinks he is the show not the films or directors or actors and lives for re-tweets of his devastating one-liners for his sh*tty website. One day film historians will look back on this era and seriously wonder what kind of people actually listen to Ehrlich and Collin or maybe even worse than them Anne Thompson (same website as Ehrlich) who literally acts like she's a big deal industry insider when she's actually more the crazy elderly lady who observes the blatantly obvious like it's some huge revelation (the "weather is cold today!" of film critics she is). I'm wondering about it now.........

Hustlers is STX though. Is this their sudden foray into awards season? Maybe. STX had Molly's Game two years ago and this looks really similar and is actually getting better reviews so far. At the very least it's earned a spot in the conversation. I completely forgot that they had Mollys Game. Maybe because I hated it.

Hustlers is STX though. Is this their sudden foray into awards season? I don't know if they'll spend any money on the movie, but I know J. Lo will use her own money to campaign if STX can't do it or only does so sparingly. I thought it was funny but also really desperate when Melissa Leo did that "Consider" campaign, but I hope J. Lo goes all out and does something like that. Yeah it’s all on J-Lo to self campaign this thing; STX’ entire lifesavings would run out if they joined in. 😂

He's actually one of my favs along with Morgenstern (who's far more gentle). Don't understand how anyone could hate a film critic or call them a "movie hater" when that's clearly not the case, especially one as talented a writer as Ehrlich (whose snark btw is half the fun). I think you're just salty about his J'Accuse review.

wilcinema Wockeen (Joker) or Bus Driver (MS)....which performance did you like more? This is setting up to be a mom-or-dad situation for me. They're both incredible performances and, in my book, either will be the best winner of this decade at least.
If I had to cast a vote NOW and just for Best Actor, I'd probably say Driver. But again, it's a 51-49 thing for me. This Actor race will destroy me and leave me devoid of all energy.

I feel ya pal, except I only have one thoroughbred in this race so it’s the Wock or absolutely nothing...

I'm sticking with Just Mercy because I have no faith in the movies any more and Canada outside of hockey season.
Knives Out
Two Popes

I think it's odd that they canceled the awards ceremony, so I'm thinking Cameron Bailey's not happy with what's winning right now. However, I also am a conspiracy theorist at times and can totally believe that there's some hijinks that go on to ensure that an approved choice wins.
So non-conspiracy theorist predictions, all films that didn't premiere at Toronto which made Bailey upset and cancel this year's ceremony: 1. The Two Popes 2. Parasite 3. Marriage Story
