Awkward considering that giant cliffhanger at the end of Far From Home... Holland is still signed on for 2 more movies. Spider-Man will continue. He just won't be in MCU (and MCU connection will need to be left out of Spider-Man). It seems odd considering Far From Home was all about Iron Man though.

I'm almost certain they'll end up making a deal. It's too mutually beneficial for either side to walk away completely, and they have plenty of time before the next movie anyway.
Not gonna lie, though, I kinda love the idea of Sony just going "fuck it" and making Holland's Spidey somehow part of the Spider-Verse as a live-action/animation hybrid a la Roger Rabbit.

If I was in charge at Sony I would completely redo the origin and have it where Spider-Man's mom had sex with a giant spider, which is why he's half spider. Then he gets all angsty and tries to find his dad later only to discover that it's like the spider-king or something. He gets mad at first but they join forces to fight an evil agribusiness that makes pesticides that kill spiders.
This is why I'm not in charge at Sony. This draft of a Spider-Man script would be received about as well as Truman Capote's notorious Great Gatsby script.
