Another BridgePretty nice album intro, but, even though it's only less than three minutes long, it does grow a bit repetitive. Not bad, but not particularly special either. - 6/10 Angra "Temple Of Hate"

Angra "Temple Of Hate"It's hard not to be impressed by the speed of the playing, and the drumming is pretty epic too, that guys a machine for sure. Overall, this was a rather great song. I could definitely see myself listening to it again. 8/10Moloko, "The Time Is Now"

Pipeline/Kill Time
Musically it's mostly pretty cool and interesting, although the distortions in the last minute or two border on irritating. In terms of the vocal delivery it was good enough, but the lyrics are a little gloomy Gus; still that was all the rage in American alternative rock back then (if not always). To quote Bart Simpson "Ah, making teenagers depressed is like shooting fish in a barrel.". 7/10

CrystalI still find this song pretty great, even though I hadn't listened to it in years, since I have somewhat grown out of this style of rock music. I definitely think it is one of New Order's best tracks. - 8/10 This is, by far, my favorite song of this decade, so I'm definitely interested to read someone's thoughts on it: Summoning "Silvertine"

SilvertineFirst off, this was blocked in my country by WMG, so I just pulled up this. Tell me if it's wrong. This is actually pretty epic. I'm not into metal at all, but it does a great job of creating that sense of danger in the storm. I don't understand the references in the lyrics, but I'll assume that they're intelligent and not nonsense. I'm gonna go with 7/10"Ironclad Mermaid" by After DinnerEdit: I decided to change the song, although my previous choice is still archived in Moviesinner's post. Choose whichever floats your boat.

I think Summoning is a band that can be enjoyed even by those that are not into Metal music, as their focus is mostly in the symphonics and use the guitars mainly in the background to enhance the atmosphere. And to quench your curiosity for the references in the lyrics, they are from Lord Of The Rings (not the books necessarily, but the world Tolkien created for them), as Silvertine is one of the three peaks that surround the dwarven kingdom of Khazad-Dum.

I figured it was LotR, because I recognized Durin's Peak as Tolkienesque, if not Tolkien himself. Summoning is a lot better than other metal bands from my experience, yeah. Of course, my experience comes down to one other band. I tried to listen to the Fall of Efrafa trilogy because of my love of Watership Down, but the whole screaming thing just didn't meld with a lot of the rather lovely music -- and I think their interpretation of the WD story was too intellectual for what is essentially a children's tale. Summoning seems to mix the vocals pretty far back, and it works in the context of their setting, instead of competing with it. If that makes sense.

I've also listened to the Fall Of Efrafa trilogy, and while I like their music just fine, I don't think it fits within their lyrical content and doesn't bode well with their vocal style. I think Summoning, on the other hand, has music that complements their lyrics perfectly and I think most of their tracks are masterful in that department (the combination of musical - lyrical context). It's a band that I'd highly recommend to any fan of music in general.

Not really my thing but it's catchy. I really like the album art and the lead singer's voice is nice. 6/10
Next song: "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear

Two WeeksEh. It's not bad really. It sounds like some music I hear in the background and it isn't annoying or anything, but I don't want to actually devote myself to listening. 5/10"So Far Away and So Near" by ErutanI don't care how corny this song is, I still find it beautiful.

Wow, almost every video of that song was unavailable on youtube but I finally found a version of it. I haven't heard this in ages! It's really lovely, a nice and melancholic melody with bittersweet lyrics. 8/10 Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

This sort of dance remix thing is not my style at all. It's fine-ish listening to it once (sorta), but I wouldn't want to actually be stuck in a room listening to this or anything much like it for any extended period of time. 4/10Dang, I'm always negative in my responses. I feel like such a tool. "Death Mountain (from Twilight Princess)" by Zelda Re-orchestrated

As for your link (heh), I'm not well versed enough in Zelda to compare it to hearing it in the game or anything, but this is a really nice arrangement. I really like the slow build and how it intensifies as more instruments and sounds are added. I dig it. 8/10

This was simple but effective as it produced a mood of melancholy and mystery, but it felt as one of those songs that are meant to be listened to within the context of the album they are a part of and listening to it separately it feels somewhat lacking. Anyway, I liked it overall. - 7/10 "Soulless" by Sear Bliss

That saaaaax. This is wonderfully catchy and the lyrics are pretty incredible (I love when a lyricist can pull off something great). It's not really my style, but I get it. 8/10Nobel winning lyricist Kazuo Ishiguro (I'll never get tired of saying that) wrote this next song (with Jim Tomlinson writing the music): "The Summer We Crossed Europe in the Rain" by Stacey Kent

This is so boring. It's tame grandpa music of the most inoffensive kind. 3/10"Blue Rondo a la Turk" by Dave Brubeck

So Dave Brubeck - Blue Rondo a la Turk...I won't say I hate Jazz, hates a strong word, but I am terribly averse to it. Still, I listened to it all the way through and as Jazz goes, I found it tolerable. 4/10Next: "All I Want" Skunk Anansie
