Didn't know where to post this lengthy Hollywood Reporter profile from today, so here -- www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/fleabag-creator-phoebe-waller-bridge-writing-bond-25-her-secret-new-movie-1231046Stage actress, television showrunner, millionaire Hollywood script-doctor, Martin McDonagh's gf, or should we be saying McDonagh is Phoebe Waller-Bridge's bf? Wink. She has the whole industry at her fingertips, and her next move? From now until the Emmy's she's once again performing her beloved Fleabag on the stage. To think at the top of this year she wasn't considered a major "next-up" luminary - she was more of an underground favorite, no? But now, with 4 Emmy noms this year and very possibly a Lead winner, the Bond gig, and talent all over the place, she's teeming with potential, and even though she's in demand as a writer/producer I think more than anything Fleabag proved she is a significant actor - bright, fearless, charismatic, unpredictable, self-deprecating, and insanely hilarious. So, thoughts? on her previous work and career potential...

I think she tends to resemble Winona Ryder.
I've watched the first couple of episodes of 'Fleabag' (mainly because of Kristin Scott Thomas's involvement in the second season) - I'm not sure it's my sort of humor. Shame, because I was really looking forward to it because of all of the raves (and KST).

Shame, because I was really looking forward to it because of all of the raves (and KST). I'll concede that I think the show is a little overrated... To me, mostly it's the performance that is smashing, as they say in the UK, and makes it worth seeing. Well, that and the sister relationship as they are perfectly mismatched, convincing, and poignant. The 'blue humor' is always rendered thru the Fleabag character, a damaged provocateur, so it works for me, she sells it well, or maybe the fourth wall breaking isn't for everyone? It's done similarly as in 'Miranda' a twee Brit sitcom I guiltily like. I don't mind it here at all except when it's toyed with in S2... Actually, the finale of S1 when she's confronted by her sister with unearthed memories of guilt, she "hides" from the camera much like the protagonist does in the end of The Shop On Main Street, which is an interesting connection to say the least...!

She's raucously good in Fleabag (although Sian Clifford is MVP of that series), but I haaaaaaated Killing Eve's first season and have no interest in revisiting it. Still, I think it's really neat that she's garnering the acclaim across different genres/media that she is.

Oh honey, I know I'll be murdered on the spot for saying this but I didn't really get Fleabag and found it self-indulgent and overrated... maybe it's the English thing. But all the hype around this woman reminds of Lena Dunham and all the stuff about her being the second Messiah, when she came out with Girls, in 2012... all though of course, I was only 7 then.
Killing Eve was amusing but got repetitive, very quickly. Always loved Sandra Oh, so I'm glad she got a hit show.

The second season of Fleabag was a stone cold masterpiece imo.Loved the first season of Killing Eve,but the second was a letdown, probably because PWB handed over the writing and showrunner duties to someone else.Big drop in quality.

Now the only other person besides Tina Fey ('08 - 30 Rock) to win Lead Actress, Writing, and Series for Comedy in the same year. I really didn't expect the Series win. And she was the creator behind both Lead Actress series winners, which is pretty cool.

I'm so happy that we live in a world where an incredible, refreshing talent like PWB is a three times Emmy winner and a hired writer in a huge franchise. I think Fleabag will go down as one of the landmarks of 2010's television, the last time I saw a writer-actor become such a rock star was probably Lena Dunham.

Natasha Lyonne and Russian Doll were my ultimate choices, but I like Fleabag and I'm happy for Waller-Bridge's success.

I found the first episode slightly annoying maybe because she kept on breaking the fourth wall and that felt somewhat odd. Then I got used to it. Then got obsessed about it. And now I think it's legit one of the greatest thing onTV. Absolutely loooovvvee it and 100% deserves the hype and awards it got. PWB is a star, a superstar and carries the whole thing so effortlessly. I still really hated that stupid show Killing Eve but this is something else. Something really special. And that cast!! Every single person shines. Every one of them. I am so glad I continued watching it. Highly recommended!! ❤️

Watched the first season of Fleabag. Quirky and funny but also touching at times. Found it relatable too. Phoebe delivered a charming performance. Quite irresistible at times.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has sealed the deal with Amazon, fresh off her stunning Emmys win on Sunday. Under the deal, Waller-Bridge will create and produce new television content for Amazon Studios that will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Sources say the deal is worth around $20 million a year. VARIETY We missed this bit from a few weeks ago. When will she have time to act! ...? Also seems she could finance McDonagh's next movie!

Finished watching the 2nd season. It's much more coherent and an improvement character development wise. Equal parts funny and emotional. There are a few flat out brilliant scenes like the 'confession' scene for example. Couldn't take my eyes off Phoebe. She turned an annoying trope like fourth wall breaking into a likeable one. Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman were pretty good too.

I finished Fleabag last night and absolutely loved it. The second season in particular was amazing. Smart, clever writing, genius usage of character arcs and fourth-wall breaks, funny and heartbreaking in almost equal measure. Phoebe is phenomenal and Andrew Scott complimented her nicely; their chemistry was electrifying.

Fleabag is a defining tv series of the decade, though I agree that Sian Clifford was absolutely the star of the show and Claire was by far the best character.

I'm in love with her, I looove the shit out of Fleabag and sometimes I wish I could take the Eternal Sunshine treatment to rewatch season 2 and die all over again. Such perfection and marketable growth from season 1 (and that chemistry btwn Scott and PWB? ). Love it, loved Crashing too but not as much as Fleabag. I wasn't a fan of Killing Eve but I can respect the writing (I gave up after a few episodes).
