David Oyelowo in Selma was pretty two-dimensional imo and there was so much more he could've done with that role

I know it has its fans but I just rewatched In The Cut - and that movie is totally let down by - Meg Ryan - a not very good actress anyway - who got some prasie for that role but she shouldn't have - and psychologically there's A LOT going on in that character that's untapped and she seems just sort of clueless or flatly dim-witted She (almost) single-handely tanks the movie ........ That movie has been on my watchlist forever and now I really want to see it. Gotta admit, I'm not her biggest cheerleader but she's got shit I love: Sleepless In Seattle, When A Man Loves A Woman (that's me and my ex at the time) and that AA scene at the end was thumbs up but she hit it out of the park going against Sean Fucking Penn in Hurlyburly ("so desperation is within my area of expertise. Just in case you thought I was some mindless twat over here with blonde hair and big eyes.") She also gets MAJOR points for sleeping with Russell Crowe. Girls got taste.
