It took me about 30 seconds to understand that it was John Travolta. At first I thought it was either Ron Pearlman or Chuck Norris, I guess that's good ?

This looks really bad. Travolta last five films all have 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, this will more then likely continue the trend.

The trailer is hysterical but this would more than likely just be soul-crushing to watch.

Very few, just ok films in over 20 years from Travolta. Since The Thin Red Line (you barely call this a Travolta movie).
What's wrong with this guy?

Very few, just ok films in over 20 years from Travolta. Since The Thin Red Line (you barely call this a Travolta movie). What's wrong with this guy? John Travolta is a classic example of when you get older and you have nothing to fall back on how you get trapped - I bet he wishes he tried theater or a TV show and now........well, I don't know if he can transition anywhere. I have been talking a lot about him lately - first he's a pivotal American actor in that he defined the role of the teenage male (along with James Dean) - he starred in the two biggest teen movies ever - think about that - he's lucky his career didn't flame out at 25 - and a huge teen TV show (and Carrie) and he himself had pop music hits too. No other actor so defined what being a teenage male was like on that level besides him and Dean. He really didn't play an adult on film - a guy with a job and opinions etc. until much later and when he did - in a masterpiece (Blow Out) that bombed at the box office he freaked out and ran back to what he thought people wanted him in (Staying Alive). Travolta once had something that could work even though he's not a great actor - he had a grounded quality but also a star quality .......what he didn't have was any sort of actorly craft or discipline and it eventually caught up to him. People love to talk smack about older actors cashing paychecks or being shells of themselves but if you look at each actor, everyone is different and he's somewhat trapped in himself - when he plays Gotti you like the effort (I did anyway) but it's not connected to anything internal - it's far far less than Armand Assante's and even now he can maybe play something like this stalker with effort but that's all you'd respond to because whatever else he had - charisma, internal tension, star power, sex appeal, box office pull........... has left him.
It happens ........happened to better actors than him and lesser actors without 2 films with the artistic cache of Blow Out and Pulp Fiction on their resume too.

I agree in almost everything except from the part that getting older was a factor in his case. He was about 42 yo when he played in the Thin Red Line.
Others start playing in big films much older than he was and Travolta was already a star back then with 4-5 very important films in his resume.

Everyone's talking about Travolta, but honestly the idea of Fred Durst directing makes this almost fascinating.

This was really something to see and not even in a so bad it's good way - like some strange bizarro version of Face Off but where the gonzo spirit of Nicholas Cage inhabits Travolta to give it his all against all logic ..........and I actually am not sure Travolta is worse than Devon Sawa - at least Travolta stumbles on some things but Sawa is flat out lost.......... but I know Travolta's not remotely anywhere close to as fun as Cage would have been here. A thoroughly disheartening anti-human experience .........Tied for my worst of the year with The Perfection - um.......it's been quite a year .....

Move over Joaquin Phoenix and Adam Driver. This is even more funnier and embarrassing then Paramount's FYC for Transformers: AOE! They'll push anything for an Oscar, these days.

more deserving of Oscars than like 60% of the shit that's shilled here on the daily
wouldn't call it a great movie or anything but it's messy enough in a sometimes interesting sometimes fun way. shit if DDL can get the academy to suck his dick when he overacts why not mr scientology
