I think they should have waited for 6 months, or at least until Cats comes out.
Most surprising inclusion (and it had a few of them) is Magic Mike XXL.
I can live with the #1 pick, as it would probably be in the lower end of my Top 25 of the decade so far.

Way too PC........um, I was happy to see Burning though.
Unless I missed it Get Out (thumbs down), The Babadook (good) and Hereditary (7/10) are on this list but not The Witch or It Follows - GTFO
3 Billboards and We Are The Best! (I think?) are missing and would be in my top 5 of the decade - maybe even flirting with top 3.
Not a fan of Indie Wire usually also.....

Biggest WTF inclusions for me...
The Great Gatsby (Seriously?) Sunset Song Magic Mike XXL
There are obviously other films that I don't care for on the list, but I understand the passion behind them.

Mostly lame list with a glaring recency bias. Some good picks with Under the Skin, Holy Motors, and Certified Copy all in the top ten but for the most they’re trying waaaay too hard to be obscure/edgy. I’m sure the more I think about the more dumb omissions I’d find, too.

CTRL + F "Drive." Not found. List invalid. Weird how critics seem to have cooled on it recently, I remember it was also maybe the most glaring absence from BBC’s 21st century list a few years ago. Oh well, they’re loss.

Well, everything about this list is pretty much exactly how I imagine an IndieWire list like this would be so I'm not particularly surprised or shocked by anything here. "Moonlight" continues to be incredibly overrated (despite being a good film) but even that isn't really anything new.
The stupidest thing for me here is the continued phony presentation of "Paddington 2" as this great godsend of cinematic niceness and blah-blah-blah. I sincerely can't imagine anyone who saw a couple of decent family films in their lives calling "Paddington 2" remotely special. But Ehlrhcich has an obsession with it so I'm not too shocked about its placement. It's just silly as heck.

I'm all for obscure movies getting shout outs, but this list went around 35 movies too far. It makes the inclusion of obscure movies that are actually good (Girl Walk Girl Walk Girl Walk) mean nothing because you're pushing every little movie nobody has ever heard of.

It's shocking that Certified Copy and Holy Motors made it that far, they're barely discuss nowadays. There's a few other good choices.
But is so bias and so self-aware, group thinking, whatever, The Farewell ? Lady Bird in the top 10, lel. I'm sure in the voting instructions said something along the lines: Be sure to be inclusive, edgy, zzzz, blah blah...... talk about the downfall of a site I used to endose 10 years ago.

Springbreakers included???
Dogtooth and The Tree of Life are very highly ranked imo. And Under the Skin no way at #2.

No Maddin or Sono It's an alright list, some great picks and some awful ones. I don't think Moonlight should be anywhere near the Top 25, let alone at #1. I give them props for a handful of eclectic choices, but some of those really didn't work for me at all (Madeline's Madeline, Happy as Lazarro, etc.).

This list is all over the place. There are some great choices in there, but there are also some pretty awful ones as well. But any list of top films of this decade that doesn't include anything from Sion Sono or Nuri Bilge Ceylan is invalid.

that's been a big auteur pick recently, not too surprising

This list..........yikes. Looks meshed together by the letterbox'd indie and young hipster community. Basically created by people born after the 9/11 towers came down, who bothers to watch 250 movies released per year which will then inevitably include some really small releases nobody has seen. By their joint efforts, they've managed to create a little community who are so obsessed with buzz, new releases, and current trending talk surrounding some film by the newest Damien Chazelle lookalike filmmaker, but people you only hear about on some random dude's blogs. It's hilarious to me how most people who call themselves "prospective filmmakers" know primarily only films released from the Obama administration on. Where do they all materialize from, lol? Let's see them make a top 20 from the 00s and see how stumped they get. And better yet in the 90s and let's see if they can come up with 10 they like more than the first 100 of the 2010s. Nobody will be talking about Carol or Lady Bird in 2025. These are just insignificant films. Maybe not on AwardsWatch, but who can take that place seriously.

GW:AD is probably one of the most obscure ones, like 90% of this list is stuff i would think people are familiar with

I just don't see in what world this could be considered a good list given the very mehish films on this list. Not sure which films you think particularly stands out that would credit this list as erudite, but this looks more like the work of the letterbox'd indie and hipster community. And usually when you go look at the profiles of people like that, you'll find that their general film experiences are narrowed down to mostly only this decade. Though, this really isn't my fight and not sure why I butted in. These are threads I normally don't care about, so I'm not...like... angry.
