Production quality is there. Looks good. I actually don't think the trailer is doing it much justice.

hmmmmm i'm not buying what it's selling. It's not a good trailer and it doesn't do a good job setting the stage or world or even the style at all, let alone what the hell is happening in the story. I watch this trailer and it just looks like any other cheap-ish GoT knockoff. Geralt's look is solid but Yennifer and Ciri...ehhh they're falling kinda flat for me, at least based off this short trailer. I guess my perspective is seriously fucked though because I know this is based off the books and I've only played the third game so what the hell do I know.
Hoping for the best anyways.

Yeah good production values but the trailer didn't do much for me. I'll give it a try.

Not only does this look pretty fantastic, but Cavill has the voice down pretty pat.

Have to finish Mr. Robot and Watchmen before I get into this but the response seems to be pretty polarized so far. 60% with 25 reviews on RT

First episode is good, but also really confusing if you don't already have prior knowledge of the series (not the characters, but moreso the world they all live in). Game of Thrones definitely got you into its world better than this, but this also practically takes you to the edge of the boat and gives you a solid kick in the ass into its story.
Their treatment of Geralt and Cavill's performance so far are definitely worthy of the show. Looking forward to the rest!

Watched the first couple of episodes. This is not for me,it's like something off the Syfy channel. Yeah, I couldn't get into this at all a few episodes in. You hit the nail on the head....it feels like something from the SyFy Channel (like Krypton or something) and the only reason it's getting as much attention as it is, is because Netflix is a huge brand and Henry Cavill is a pretty well known star. It's a huge leap backwards from Game Of Thrones, which gave the fantasy genre a huge amount of respectability with mainstream audiences. This show kinda reminds people why they found the fantasy genre dorky in the first place. Oh well, Amazon are adapting Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time series. Maybe that will fill the Game Of Thrones void.

Started watching this. The world building isn't that great and the production design is not what i expected from a fantasy series. It looks different. What can we call this? Fantasy punk? Dungeon punk? or any other? Definitely GoT fantasy or LOTR high fantasy. Cavil is pretty spot on. I was meh on the first two episodes but the third one is pretty good. Anya Chalotra is a looker

I wasn't the biggest fan of this show but even I have to admit that Toss a Coin to your Witcher is a total banger.

Finally got around to finishing season 1 and overall it was certainly entertaining imo. Cavill was a cold blooded badass in this (I know his acting is rather limited but he did the whole brooding thing very well as the lead). Some of the subplots were a bit confusing but no biggie really. Looking forward to season 2!

Serviceable entertainment but not very memorable. Henry Cavil is perfect as the witcher and Anya Chalotra did a very good job as the sorceress. Good production values but inconsistent world building and non linear storytelling stops it from becoming good. The show runner was inspired by Nolan's Dunkirk but that kind of non linear storytelling doesn't fit very well for fantasy stories.
