Sorry if the poll doesn't make sense or has been asked dozen of times but since I have just watched Breaking Bad and OBSESSED with it and Cranston's performance and planning to watch The Sopranos soon, I am really interested in knowing which performance does the board choose.

Anyone voting for Cranston here is 100% canceled.

Cranston is great, but his performance doesn't even come close to the depth and range of Gandolfini's.
Even if Breaking Bad had more consistent writing and didn't become a drawn out mess, this still wouldn't be a contest.

They're impossible performances to compare, and you shouldn't expect the same from one as you're getting from the other. Breaking Bad repeatedly (certainly the more it went along) offered Cranston up innumerable opportunities to go big and bold and he knocks it out of the park. Gandolfini's performance is completely (certainly comparatively) grounded in reality, and nowhere near as showy a piece of work. Don't get me wrong, the big mans performance was kind of showy too really, but in a completely different sort of way. I'd liken it to Stallone in Rocky, you watch it and you sort of think that's just him being him, but when you see him outside of that role and realize he's nothing like that it can only elevate your appreciation for how seamless everything that he does is.

Cranston as Walter White is some of the best acting in TV history. Gandolfini as Tony Soprano is some of the best acting in history.
