While I do enjoy the first film a whole lot, I much prefer the second. It keeps up solidly as a great action film like the first, but it also ups the laughs and it ends up as just plain entertaining and very, very rewatchable.
(lethal weapon 5 & 6 are just to good to be even considered here)

I like them both. If I really have to choose, I'll go with LW 1.
But maybe late I change my mind...

I like both, but I'm going to give it to 1 because Gibson is actually pretty great in it.

Love them both, but I have always thought that part II is slightly superior and the best part of the series. It really is a great mix of action, supsense and comedy.

This is tough. Both are almost equally great. 1 is a bit more hard boiled, but has enough humour. 2 ramps up the comedy, but is still pretty brutal and sad at times (Riggs losing Patsy Kensit like that after finally finding someone after grieving for his wife for so long was pretty heartbreaking). Sophie's Choice really. Ummm...I'll go for 2. Both had strong villains, but I really like Joss Ackland and the whole "Diplomatic Imunnity" thing Really made you root for Murtagh to put a bullet in his head. But next week, I could prefer 1. It's that close.

Both great but first still gets the edge for me.
