Steven Seagal in Executive Decision. I watched it as a kid and was blown away that they killed him off so early. I think he's even on the cover of the VHS.

Well if we're talking movie deaths that shocked me as a kid then the very first thing that comes to mind is AnnaSophia Robb in Bridge to Terabithia because what the fuck, that shit traumatized me as a 7-year-old watching that film in the theater...

And I'll also be the first to mention this obvious one...

William Petersen in To Live and Die in L.A. Also Kim Richards in Assault on Precinct 13 fucked me up as a kid.

Oh man, Bridge to Terabithia. I took my little cousin to see this when it released. Thought it was all fun and games and then out of nowhere Leslie fucking dies.... We were both traumatized that day, and I was fucking 17!

Calvin Candie's in Django made no sense to me - I was stunned in a bad way Keep him alive you keep the film alive.....kill him and turn your film into a clusterfnck of random bullets and stupidity - even his death is stupid and unworthy of that great character. Exhibit A in very bad writing from an at times great writer...serve your story because your story didn't have anything that was his equal as a character.

The box in Se7en was quite shocking even though we didn't see it happening and we didn;t see inside the box. That made it more shocking.

You are 7 when Bridge to Terabithia was released? Shocking! Just looked up the release date ... turns out I was actually six, Ray! Six!

And I'll also be the first to mention this obvious one... The uncomfortable humor of that moment is as disarming and shocking as the act itself.

The single lasting element of the movie? So shocking in the moment, it made me forget I had already seen Infernal Affairs and totally should have known.

Oh honey, Anna Magnani getting shot in Rome, Open City. Those were the days when a good garter belt could get you noticed and make you a big star...

Caché (2005) I remember that I was really shocked when Majid suicided all of a sudden by cutting his throat with a knife.

Billy Costigan in The Departed, especially considering he’s the protagonist
