Oh my god! I just remembered that Fincher and Oldman both share a baby mama and an ex-wife (Donya Fiorentino, the ex that claims Oldman was abusive). Pretty mental that two men who were both married to the same woman and both have kids with her are teaming up like this. They must both really dislike her. Wow wasn't aware that Fincher & Oldman are Eskimo brothers. Learn something new everyday.

Few things......
They're up and casting.... there's crew on IMDb too....
And before they cast Donald Sutherland, here's what I think with Pacino for Hearst.... It's period and a real-life character which he's been all about lately, Oldman has creative input and Pacino is one of his idols, it's Netflix and shooting in LA - they're already involved with him with The Irishman and the campaigning. I mean you can't blame me for wanting to will a Pacino/Oldman ticket into existence.
Oldman, with Laundromat + this might find a home in Netflix for his Flying Horse passion project ......... and last thing, gossip bit: him and Fincher both had messy divorces with the same woman, their kids are half-siblings..... hmmm!

I mean he’s obviously brilliant in the role but it’s nice to see different actors giving different takes on characters (with the exception of Noah Taylor reprising the role of Hitler for Preacher). Plus I’d rather leave him in the Deadwood universe.

Plus I’d rather leave him in the Deadwood universe. It's not the same character, though -- the Hearst of Citizen Kane is the son of Deadwood's Hearst. And McRaney has a great amount of range.

There's your Orson Welles! Looks-wise pretty solid. Haven't seen The Souvenir - but this is some serious role for him. I'm assuming Charles Dance is playing Hearst? So that's three Brits as the major American characters!

Erik Messerschmidt will be the cinematographer. Does he know how to use a fucking lighting rig?

Erik Messerschmidt will be the cinematographer. Does he know how to use a fucking lighting rig? Well, as I understand Fincher worked with him on "Mindhunter" so if you've seen that you'll know the answer! I haven't but I suspect that the choice of cinematographer doesn't really matter that much when it comes to Fincher's projects because he'll still be executing his vision with the cinematographer not having much of a say. All of Fincher's movies have a shared visual language. Although this case will be a tad different since it's B&W. That kinda needs stronger lighting than a usual Fincher production.

Actually let's just not stretch the definition. OK, he's done quite a few biopics but not Dracula!!!! What Cherry wanted to post, that also was Prince Vlad in Dracula.- Any way for someone with more than 100 titles. 10 or less films don't make him a biopic actor. Specially when most are secundaries parts or not strictly a biopic.- Meryl Streep is a biopic actress, she started in several biopics, and several characters inspired on real people.-

Tom Burke was exceptional in The Souvenir. This is great news.

He played the character of the Bram Stoker book tbh.

Surprised Fincher isn't shooting it himself - all the cool kids are doing it these days! But srsly for someone so technical it's odd he's never shot/edited anything.
