Use whatever criteria you like.
I think Loren was a superior actress in that she had more sides to her, but frankly never understood the praise heaped upon her "beauty". Hepburn was a charmer through and through and even though nobody would mistake her for a world-class thespian, at least she stretched herself in the latter half of her career. As a style-and-beauty icon, I get the reverence to a limited extent but never counted myself as a huge fan in that regard. I enjoy her enough is what I'm saying.
Also, does anybody think Penelope Cruz could pass as the lovechild of the two??

Oh god, Loren.
Hepburn is certainly not bad.... and I like a lot of her stuff. Girlfriend's favorite actress. But Loren is superior on just about every level.

Audrey is more beautiful, Loren is sexier, Audrey is better at comedy, Loren is better at drama, both are massive movie stars who forced you to watch their ever move the whole time they were on screen even aside from being beautiful. Voted for Audrey because I'm in love with her

Audrey for no particular reason. I love them both, I have a slight preferance in Hepburn.

Hepburn was surely more classy. But I think that Loren 's peaks (especially when directed by DeSica) were higher.

Both are goddesses of cinema history, but I'll stick with Audrey because she was one of the reasons I first had interest in cinema and old movies when I got into my teens.
