The first who came to mind for me was Laura Dern.

Theron and Kidman would probably be the most interesting high profile choices that could play in his aesthetic, imho.

Dern is a good one.
Coppola and Scorsese are sometimes called misogynist directors or at least tone-deaf for female roles though both made feminist classics in their early career - The Rain People and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Michelle Williams who I obviously love more than other American actress nowadays is the closest to a modern Burstyn and Scorsese got an amazing, daring supporting turn out of her in Shutter Island so obviously I'd like to see her in a lead for him.
I also think he'd work quite well with Bening who can have a great toughness and fragility simultaneously.

Bening and Dern are pretty good choices. I'd also vote for Cate Blanchett whom I love or a younger but very talented actress (Emma Stone would be my pick).
Of course who wouldn't want to see Marty work with the legend that is Meryl (what's going on with their project, really???)
On the other hand, I'd love to see him work again with some actors and actresses he's worked with before. Let's stick to the ladies: Winona Ryder, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jodie Foster, Sharon Stone...

Winona again please. For newcomers, how about Kristen Stewart?
