My all time favorite actress... So many greats to choose from. I think the Rampling performance that is most seared into my mind is her Bergmanian turn in Under the Sand - never have I seen such a stunning confluence of an actor's personal life and character work onscreen.

45 Years (my win of that year) Under the Sand Lemming Night Porter Swimming Pool
Most recently she stole the show in "Red Sparrow". Hoping for a new Ozon collaboration as soon as possible.

Where do Stardust Memories and The Verdict rank in her pantheon for you? "Stardust Memories" is definitely in Top 10. I love Jessica Harper in that one as well. She's very good in "The Verdict", though it's more of a Paul Newman show for me. I'm happy that she's still getting great parts and recognition.

have seen very little of her work and she's rarely stood out in her projects that I have seen. She's transcendent in 45 Years and that's definitely my current favorite. Also want to shout out her supporting turn in Georgy Girl.
Have to say I really disliked her in The Night Porter. A film starring Bogarde and Rampling as ex-Nazi and Holocaust survivor turned lovers had no business being so stilted and awkward. She barely registered for me in The Verdict and Farewell, My Lovely.

One of the most spectacularly successful actresses of our time. Range is her middle name. Still stunning today in every sense of the word. Loved her performance in Under The Sand. She carried the film, she is able to communicate her feelings of denial, regret, giddiness and womanhood with sometimes no dialogue.

Certainly Under The Sand. I caught on TV La Chair de L'Orchidee when I was very very young and Rampling's character was memorable to me as such a young age.

By no means her "best" but I really like her segment of the "Asylum" anthology where she and Britt Ekland play ..........well mischievious friends let's say I am a sucker for horror anthologies and this whole film doesn't work but this segment definitely does.
