Hmmmmmmm............I am always iffy about calling Jake Gyllenhaal a "star" - at least a film star - who has ever paid money to see him (?) and when has he been great (exactly once to me in Nightcrawler - good several times, but great?) but clearly coming on the heels of Sea Wall/A Life - which I will probably see in August - he's big time staking out this territory over even Driver even maybe. That's an interesting battle in the under 40 crowd........I think for US actors............they may be the only ones playing at that level.
